Bathed in two cultures from childhood, moving around the world and experiencing different cultures has always been my thing. When I was in high school, I heard about students in my class wanting to take the SAT test and study abroad in the USA. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. Actually, what I wanted to experience most was the European lifestyle and cultural mix.

 I used to travel a lot around Europe with my parents as a little kid, and also not forgetting that the French Language is one of my mother tongues, France seemed therefore like a top choice for me. French universities have a good reputation and the French capital is internationally well known for its cultural history. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. My university was one of those small cities and I also got the chance to obtain a scholarship which made it easier for me to start my studies.

 {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. Opportunities are offered to develop our network and explore the business world. The university participated as a partner in international networking courses leading to a European Master's degree, a double degree, or training abroad.

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. So, if you are an international student who came to France for studies, you can take the chance to explore another country for a term and study in English. I remember wanting to take this opportunity in my first year of my college life and try the program which back then offered students the chance to go on an exchange with Linnaeus University in Sweden. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}.

Torrie, 16, and her friend Azarria were driving back home when another car hit them. When Torrie opened her eyes, she 1 their car had been pushed into a tree. There came 2 from the gathering crowd as the car was smoking. Torrie's door wouldn't open, but her window became an escape 3 .

"I was grateful to Torrie, but I wasn't surprised." Azarria says. "She would have done that for anyone. That's 14 just of her.

"First-aid training should be a(n) 15 in schools," Torrie says. "It can make a difference between life and death."

A tiny Alaska village has experienced a boom in tourism in recent years as polar bears spend more time on land than on Arctic sea ice.

More than 2,000 people visited the northern Alaska village of Kaktovik in 2018 to see polar bears in the wild. The far north community lies in an area where increasingly higher temperature has sped up the movement of sea ice, the primary habitat of polar bears. As ice has gradually moved to deep water beyond the continental shelf, more bears are remaining on land to look for food.

Polar bears have always been a common sight on sea ice near Kaktovik, but villagers started noticing a change in the mid-1990s. More bears seemed to stay on land, and researchers began taking note of more female bears making homes in the snow on land instead of on the ice to raise their babies. U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service biologists began hearing reports of the increasing number of polar bears in the area in the early 2000s. As more attention was given to the plight of polar bears about a decade ago, more tourists started heading to Kaktovik.

 "The village had fewer than 50 visitors annually before 2011," said Jennifer Reed, of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. "Today we're talking about hundreds and hundreds of visitors, many from around the world each year," Reed said. Most tourists visit in autumn, when bears are forced towards land because sea ice is farthest away from the shore. Bruce Inglangasak, a local hunter who sometimes offers wildlife-viewing tours, said, "I've been offering polar bear tours since 2004." Many tourists stay several days in the village, which has two small hotels. The villagers have benefited a lot from that. In turn, they provide more effective protection for polar bears with financial support from tourism development.

As I walk into the big room at school, I'm wearing my white coat that doctors usually wear. But I also have on some funny 1 and a messy wig that makes me look like a crazy scientist. My name tag says "Professor Quantum Quirks," which makes people laugh.

Although May 24 was a working day, thousands of people wearing black went to the Mingyangshan Funeral Home in Hunan province to present flowers and bunches of rice plants to honor Yuan Longping. The top rice scientist, {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(refer) to as the "father of hybrid rice", died of organ failure at age 91 on May 22.

Born in 1930 in Beijing, Yuan {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(witness) the despair of people who lost their land they lived on in an era of war. So when he applied {#blank#}3{#/blank#} university, he decided to study agriculture. He began researching hybrid rice in 1964, {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(succeed) in producing the world's first high-yielding hybrid rice strain in 1973.

Yuan Longping was selfless when {#blank#}5{#/blank#}came to sharing his research to benefit people globally. To date, his hybrid rice strain {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(plant) in large areas of India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Vietnam, the US and Brazil. "Professor Yuan was {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(incredible) humble, never seeking fame or praise, instead focusing only on hard work and results {#blank#}8{#/blank#} could help remove poverty and lift people out of hunger," Kenneth M. Quinn, president of the World Food Prize Foundation, told China Daily.

Yuan could make such achievements partly because he believed in {#blank#}9{#/blank#} power of science as a harvest multiplier, noted People's Daily.

The UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs mourned {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(he) passing on Twitter, saying, "Yuan passed away today at 91 but his mission to end hunger lives on."

Ammaar Reshi, 28, has been fascinated by technology since he was a child. One day, when he was experimenting with an AI-powered chatbot, he began to consider how artificial intelligence could be used to create a basic children's book to give to his friends. Without ever picking up a pen and paper, he created a 12-page picture book. 

Just 72 hours later, Reshi self-published his book on Amazon's digital bookstore. The next day he got the paperback（平装书）, which was made available for free through another Amazon service called KPD. 

Reshi said he paid nothing to have the book created and published, although he has already paid for a $30-per-month Midway subscription. Impressed by the speed and results of his project, Reshi shared the experience in a Twitter thread that attracted more than 2,000 comments and 5,800 retweets（转发）. 

Reshi stated that he received great feedback（反馈）from users, who lauded his creative work at first. But the next day, the replies were negative. "There was this incredibly passionate reaction," Reshi said. "At 4 am, I was woken up by my phone ex ploding every two minutes with a new tweet saying things like ‘We hate you'. "

Reshi was taken aback by the outpouring of emotion in response to what was supposed to be a present for some friends' children. He didn't realize he had landed in the heart of a much broader argument. 

Some artists have expressed concern that AI art generators are stealing their work in response to Reshi's book. And some artists claim that their work has been used without their permission to train Al picture generators. 

"I wouldn't even call myself an author," Reshi said. "The AI is essentially the ghostwriter（代笔者）, and the other AI is the illustrator. " But he thought the process was creative.
