We can eat their meat. We can make coats and shoes with their skins(皮). We can get milk from them. So man can't live without animals.

Have successful people ever felt sad? Do they have any “secrets” to success? The answers to these questions can be found in US president Barack Obama's “back to school” speech. Here is an excerpt(摘录) from his speech.
I know that sometimes, you get the sense that you can be rich and successful without any hard work—that your ticket to success is through rapping (饶舌音乐) or basketball or being a TV star, when chances are, you're not going to be any of those things.
But the truth is, being successful is hard. You won't love every subject you study. Not all the homework will seem completely important to your life right this minute. And you may not succeed at everything the first time you try.
That's OK. Some of the most successful people in the world are the ones who've had the most failures. JK Rowling's first Harry Potter book was turned down 12 times before it finally came out. Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team, and he lost hundreds of games and missed thousands of shots (投篮) during his career. But he once said, “I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
These people succeeded because they understand that you can't let your failures beat you—you have to let them teach you. You have to let them show you what to do differently next time.
No one's born being good at things. You become good at things through hard work.
Don't be afraid to ask questions. Don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it. I do that every day. Asking for help isn't a sign of weakness; it's a sign of strength. It shows you have the courage to admit(承认) when you don't know something, and to learn something new.
And even when you're struggling, even when you're discouraged (泄气), and you feel like other people have given up on you—don't ever give up on yourself. Because when you give up on yourself, you give up on your country.

We can express thoughts and feelings and send sounds and pictures on our smart phones today. We also communicate by using programs like Skype and Face Time. We can't send tastes, smells or touch, of course. But scientists in Britain are trying to develop a way for smart phones to do just that.

Adrian David Cheok is a professor at City University in London. He wants people to experience communication using all of their senses. He said "In the real world, we can open up the glass, open the window. We can touch, we can taste, we can smell in the real world."

To give users a sense of taste, researchers designed two electrodes (电极)that are placed on the tongue. A chemical process creates different tastes through molecules (微粒)on the surface of the tongue. This chemical process sends electrical signals that convince the brain that a person is tasting something. They have already created sour, salty, sweet and bitter tastes.

"You put these two silver electrodes in your mouth, you put your tongue in between and then it stimulates electrically your tongue and you get a virtual taste perception in your brain."

A device(设备)called "Scentee" permits users to have the sense of smell. Scentee plugs into a smart phone and can spray tiny clouds of fragrances, including flowers, fruits and coffee. Professor Cheok says the person speaking can activate the device.

Scentee holds a container with about 100 different smells. The container must be replaced when all the scents(pleasant smells) run out.

Mohamed Nasar, a 58-year-old fisherman has supported his family of five by fishing in the Nile River for 17 years. But he says fishermen like himself catch fewer fish every. year as the Nile has been polluted. It has been filled with plastic bottles, bags and other waste.

"Most fish are caught in plastic bottles, and they die," said Nasar.

A local environmental group named "VeryNile" has asked the island's fishermen to use their boats to collect plastic bottles from the river. VeryNile says it buys the bottles at a higher price than the market price offered by traders or recycling factories (回收站).

The initiative (倡议) provides a solution for helping to clean up the Nile, while providing a way to make more money for fishermen like Nasar.

"This job has helped us a bit. We come and collect about 20 kilos of plastic bottles, and we get about 10 Egyptian pounds (EGP) for each," Nasar said when he sat in his boat collecting bottles.

Nasar used to make about 100 EGP a day after six hours of fishing. Now only by collecting bottles, he can make 200 EGP every day.

Another fisherman said cleaner Nile water would-mean more fish. "For one thing, the Nile is cleaner, and for another, the fishermen now have more ways to make money," he said.

With the help of more than 40 fishermen, over the past year VeryNile has collected around 18 tons of plastic bottles, and most of them were sent to the recycling factory and were made into new things.
