2016年贵州省黔西南州中考英语真题试卷

根据短文内容,选择最佳答案。

Now, I'm studying in the US. I find there are some differences between schools in the US and in Vietnam.

One big difference is the clothes students wear at school and how they look. In my country, all the students should wear uniforms when they go to school. Boys aren't allowed to have long hair. Girls aren't allowed to have long or colored nails(指甲).

Another difference is about the rules for parents. In Vietnam, when we begin a new school year, our parents have to go to a meeting in our class. If they don't go to that meeting, their children won't have a grade or a report card from school. However, in the US, there aren't such strict rules above.

In Vietnam, a class is only 45 minutes and we have only five classes each weekday. When the bell rings, the students just sit in their own classroom. They can't move to a different one, but students can in the US.

In Vietnam, students can't go to work because they can't find a job if they're under18. But in the US, many students work after school. This helps them make money. More importantly, this helps them become more independent. They're able to do things by themselves in their own way, without asking other people for help.

(1)、Where does the writer come from?
A、China B、Japan C、America D、Vietnam
(2)、What are the girl students allowed to do in the writer's country?
A、To keep their hair long. B、To have long nails. C、To color their hair. D、To color their nails.
(3)、What's the meaning of the underlined word“independent”?
A、勇敢的 B、独立的 C、依赖的 D、自信的
(4)、Which is not true about the Vietnamese students according to the passage?
A、They have five classes a weekday. B、They can go to work under eighteen. C、They should wear uniforms at school. D、When the bell rings, they can't move to a different classroom.
(5)、We can learn that          from the passage.
A、In the US, students don't have such strict rules as the Vietnamese students. B、The students in Vietnam can move to a different classroom for classes. C、At the end of a school year, parents in Vietnam have to go to a parents' meeting. D、In America, all students go to work after school.

Do you yawn? There are about 20 reasons that scientists think are possible for yawning after research. They do not know exactly why yawning happens, but they do know many facts about yawning.

We know that everyone yawns in the same way. First you open your mouth slowly. Your mouth stays open for about five seconds. You take in a lot of air and then push it out. Then you quickly close your mouth. We also know that yawning is contagious. When you see someone yawn, you yawn, too.

Many people say they yawn because they are bored or tired. That might be true. People do often yawn before they sleep and after they wake up. However, we know that people also yawn when they are excited or nervous. Olympic runners, for example, often yawn before a race. Why is that? In 2007, scientists found that a yawn could help a warm brain cool down.

Some scientists believe that yawning makes you notice things more quickly. When you yawn, you breathe deeply. You also stretch(伸展)the muscles in your face, mouth, and neck. Your eardrums stretch, too. Maybe this helps you to be quicker to notice things.

In some countries, people think yawning is not nice. People put their hands over their mouths to cover a yawn. In other countries, people think yawning is healthy. They think that opening the mouth very big can let good things in. When they breathe out, they think that bad things go out of the body with the air.

All in all, scientists do not spend much time studying yawning. That is probably because yawning does not hurt. It is just something we do.

Once upon a time, there lived a wise man. Everyone loved him. His son, however, was very lazy and did nothing all day.

The wise man was worried about his son's future. One day, he said to his son, "I want you to go to find some treasure(财宝). I have drawn a map to guide you." Then he handed his son a bag. Inside the bag were clothes, some food, a little money and the map.

The son set. Out on his. Long journey the next day. He had to travel across forests, rivers and mountains. Along the way, he met a-lot of people. Some helped him with food, and some with a place to live. He also met robbers(强盗) who tried to rob him but failed. He saw changing landscapes(风景) and experienced different kinds of weather.

Finally, after a long year, he reached the place of treasure. He spent two days looking and digging for the treasure, but found nothing.

Feeling sad, he headed back to his home. On his way back, he experienced the same changing landscapes and seasons. Sometimes, he would stop to enjoy the beauty of nature. He also learned to hunt and make meals. He had to fix(修补) his own clothes and the tent himself. He was now able to tell time by the sun and protect(保护) himself from wild animals. He met the same people who had helped him earlier. This time, he stayed and helped them in order to repay them.

When he reached home, he said sorry to his father for not finding the treasure.

"There wasn't any treasure in the very first place, my son," the father answered with a smile. "But I think you have found your life's true meaning."

C: Read the passage and fill in the blanks with proper words:

Where has the Time gone?is the hottest song that has moved thousands of Chinese. Chinese parents give their children endless love and ask nothing in return. However, sometimes, daughters and sons are too busy growing up and forget that their parents are getting older and older. What should we do? Let's have a look at a l{#blank#}1{#/blank#} of a father's.

Dear son,

One day if you see me old and I am not myself, have patience and try to understand me. If I get dirty when eating…, if I cannot dress…, have patience. Remember the hours I spent t{#blank#}2{#/blank#} it to you.

If, when I speak to you, I say the same things one thousand and one times, do not stop me and l{#blank#}3{#/blank#} to me. When you were small, I had to read to you one thousand and one times the same story until you get to sleep.

When I do not want to have a shower, neither shame(羞辱) me nor scold(责备) me. Remember when I had to chase you with a thousand excuses I invented, in order that you wanted to bath.

When you see me meet something n{#blank#}4{#/blank#}, give me the necessary time and don't laugh at me. I taught you how to do so many things… to eat well, to dress well… to face life.

If I do not want to eat, do not force me. I know well when I need to and when not. When my legs do not allow me to walk, give me your h{#blank#}5{#/blank#} the same way I did when you gave your first steps.

When sometimes I lose the memory during our conversation, let me have the necessary time to remember. And if I cannot do it, do not become nervous b{#blank#}6{#/blank#} the most important thing is not my conversation but to be with you and to have you listen to me.

Yours,

Father
