Is it good to be in a middle school? Most American children think so. In America, middle schools often have sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. It is different in different places.

    For children, going to a middle school is a big change. Most middle schools in America have a special day for new middle school students. On that day, they are showed around the school by their new teachers. And they could know a lot about the history of the school. They also would make friends with the old schoolmates (校友).

    They will grow up and learn some different and difficult things in a middle school. A new middle school student will learn foreign languages, computer, music and art, health, and other skills, such as cooking.

    A middle school will have sports teams, clubs and have activities for children. They can choose what they like and join them. If they are good at singing, playing basketball or something else, or if they want to learn, they can join them. Most American children think it's good to be in a middle school.

Most writers read whatever books they can find because they love to lose themselves in them. They like the sounds of language and the way that reading a good description can feel as satisfying as a baseball game or eating a banana split.

It's easy to forget a good idea if you do not write it down immediately. If you get in the habit of carrying a notebook with you everywhere you go, you can write down anything you want to remember. When you are talking to friends in the cafe or waiting for the bus, something might spark an idea for a character or scene in a story.

Nearly all writers agree that writers must write. It doesn't matter if you feel like you have nothing to say; the important thing is that you write every single day. Sometimes, you need to give yourself permission to write things which won't be your best work.

Do you have any friends who enjoy writing? Think about starting a writing group with other people who have similar interests. It helps to have the support of other writers. You will also receive valuable feedback, or suggestions, about how to make you work better.

If you decide that you would like to send your work for publication, make sure to do your research. If you are sending your writing to a magazine, look through old ones. Does it seem like your writing fits in with the other stories or articles? That's the homework for you after writing.

Hello everyone! Welcome to Class 1, Grade 7! I'm your English teacher Miss Li.  I come from Guangzhou.  I have taught English for ten years and I'm forty years old now.  You are new here.  Now let me tell you something about our school day. 

The school gate opens at 7:20 in the morning.  You can take school buses to school.  You can ask your parents to drive you to school, too.  If your home is close to our school, you can also walk or ride a bike to school every day. 

Your morning classes start at 8:00 and end at 11:45.  There are four lessons for you and you have a fifteen-minute break after two lessons.  In the morning, you usually study Chinese, Maths, History and English. 

At lunchtime, you can have lunch in the school cafeteria. There are vegetables, meat, and fruits that are good for your health.  The lessons in the afternoon begin at 2:30.  There are only two lessons and they are usually P. E. , Music or Art.  They are fun.  You can have a good time.  After school, you have outdoor activities. You can play basketball with your classmates or read in the school library.  You must keep quiet in the school library.  Then you can go home and do your homework.

When Leon Martin asked for his parents' advice on how to become a UX designer(设计师), they both went silent. "In fact, I had no idea what he was talking about, " said Anne, his mother. "I don't know whether he was talking about designing clothes, computer programmes of a fancy brand of bike. "

Anne is not alone. Recent research has found that more than 2/3 of parents in England are now facing the problem. When their children express interest in new education and job choices, they may know nothing about them. More than 75% of parents feel it is almost impossible to offer their children good advice in such a fast-changing job market. 

Michelle Reed did a survey of over 2, 000 parents of secondary school students in England. She found that many parents were afraid their children hardly follow them. "We all know that parents' opinions and suggestions play an important role in shaping and influencing their children's career dreams, " she said. "But we usually depend much on our own experiences. And things have changed so much since most of us were at school. "

Bryony Mathew, the writer of Qubits and Quiver Trees: Awesome Careers of the Future, said the world was changing so rapidly that parents should not try to decide on certain careers for their children. 

On January 1, 2024, a library opened in Guizhou Province. Children have a new place to spend their winter vacation—a library in a karst cave (溶洞). 

This is the eighth library that the charity (慈善机构), Dashan Xiaoai built to help rural (乡村的) children. It helps rural children get educational resources (资源) and open children's eyes through all kinds of activities. 

32-year-old Zhou Beilei works on rural education for more than 10 years. On weekends and holidays, these rural children spend much time at home alone and have no chance to get educational resources like bookstores. That's why we decided to build libraries for them. They can do meaningful activities, and develop their love for reading there, " Zhou says. 

She adds that the library is not just a place for books lovers. Lu Xiaoman, a fifth-grader and reader, wrote in the library's guest book that "it is my second home, only more fun and better". 

Built with the support of the local government, companies and kind people, the charity's libraries have around1 120, 000 books, and receive about 18, 000 visitors every month. 

I often hear some students say English is difficult and gives them a headache. So they can't learn it well. But English is very easy for me. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} I'm very glad to tell you something about how I study English. 

{#blank#}2{#/blank#} When I was in Grade Three, we had a new subject— English. It was new to me. I was interested in it, so I worked hard at it. Soon we had an English exam and I got a very good mark. How happy I was!{#blank#}3{#/blank#} Our English teacher often teaches us English songs, and the songs sound nice. I often think how interesting English is!
