根据短文内容,选择最佳答案。
A kind of little cars may some day take the place of today's cars. If everyone drives such cars in the future, there will be less pollution There will also be more space for parking cars in cities, and the streets will be less crowded(拥挤的). Three such cars can fit in the space now needed for one car of the usual size.
The little cars will cost much less to own and to drive. Driving will be safer, too, as these little cars can go only 65 kilometers an hour. The cars of the future will be fine for getting around a city, but they will not be useful for long trips. Little cars will go 450 kilometers before needing to stop for more gasoline(汽油).
If big cars are still used along with the small ones, two kinds of roads will be needed in the future. Some roads will be used for the big, fast cars and other roads will be needed for the slower(慢的), small ones.
(1)、There is much pollution in the car today because ________.
A、people drive big cars B、people drive little cars C、the cars go 65 kilometers an hour
(2)、The usual size of cars today are       that of future cars.
A、much smaller than B、three times as large as C、a little larger than
(3)、We can learn from the passage that ________.
A、big cars cost less to own and to drive B、the cars of the future will be much smaller than today's cars C、small cars are faster than big ones
(4)、The street will be less crowded because ______.
A、there will be fewer cars in the future B、driving future cars will be safe C、future cars will be much smaller
(5)、Two kinds of roads may be needed in the future because____.
A、there will be too many cars in the future B、more and more people will get around a city C、big cars and little cars may be used along with each other

The Earth is our home; we must take care of it. This means keeping the land, air and water clean. Pollution is a dirty word. To pollute means to make things unfit or unclean to use. Pollution comes in many ways. We see it, smell it, taste it and drink it. Pollution is beginning to threaten (威胁) our health, our happiness and our life. Man has been polluting the earth from the time he first made fire, washed his clothes in the river and threw his waste on the ground. When land was used up or water became dirty, men moved on to another place. At first, the problem was not so serious because there was plenty of clean air, land and water. There weren't so many people then and their wants were fewer. All the dirty things could be absorbed (吸收) by nature and soon covered over. But this is no longer true. The increase of population and the development of industry(工业)have changed that. Man is slowly poisoning (毒害) his environment. Through the use of poison, man has polluted the land, killing the animals. By putting dirty water and chemicals into rivers and lakes we have polluted our drinking water, killing the fish.

Our increasing population is part of the problem. More people, more waste.

Where is this all to end? Are we turning the world into a big rubbish dump (堆存处), or is there any hope that we can get rid of (摆脱, 除去) the pollution? Luckily, millions of people have been warned of the danger of pollution. Large numbers of people are now working hard to bring pollution under control.

①What does the city of the future look like? Flying cars? Robots? Or smog(烟雾)-eating buildings?

②Arconic, an American company, has made plans to build a 4.8-kilometer-high skyscraper(摩天大楼). It says that the super tall building can clean not only itself but also the air around it by “eating” smog and pollutants(污染物). But how is it done?

③Sherri McCleary, s scientist at Arconic, says they have introduced a new technology called EcoClean. It is a special coating that pulls pollutants out of the air. With a little help from sunlight and water vapour(水蒸气),the coating will produce atoms(原子能)called free radicals(自由基). It is these free radicals that will take in air pollutants, break them down, and then leave the air cleaner.

④But “eating” smog and pollutants is not the only thing this skyscraper is able to do. In fact, thanks to 3D printing, the materials the building used will become even better and stronger—not only making the skyscraper look more modern, but also make it possible to stand strong winds and terrible weather.

⑤However, some people don't think it will work out well. Air pollution has its own character and it harms lots of cities. Does the smog-eating building have such a magical ability to stop the pollution? It seems impossible to bring the pollution under control in a short time. We should prepare ourselves for a hard fight against the pollution.

⑥Sounds impossible? Anyway, Arconic believes a skyscraper of this kind will be built by 2062.

The biggest influence that technology has on family time is the change of it. People used to spend more time with their family members before. Nowadays, with children (and the parents, too) spending more time texting, watching movies and television, playing video games, and listening to music, when will the family find time to bond (培养感情) and create lasting memories together?

Far too often we don't pay more attention to making time for members of our own family. By the end of a long day at work or school, members of the family want to relax. And now that technology use is widespread across the country, normally our "relaxing" is also known as spending time on smart phones.

Not only is the amount of family time affected (影响) by technology, but also the quality. Technology can affect the quality in different ways. For example, family members can be distracted (使分心) by their phones while trying to play a board game together, which wouldn't  have happened if the phone didn't exist in the first place.

If "family time" means everyone sitting in the same room while playing online, what value is there? Personal interaction is key to time well spent with loved ones. Families don't even need to have something to do while together. If they simply ask each other how their day is and play a simple game together, family bonds will get better.

When technology becomes a focus, quality(有质量的) time for families goes down, which in turn affects everyone's life. Lack of family interaction causes the family's unity to weaken, and each of the family will be influenced in different ways. Children are more likely to develop unhealthy habits when they fail to interact with their parents. Meanwhile, parents who put work before family or pay less attention to their children's growth are more likely to face bad parent-child relationship. 67 percent of American teens say they want to spend more time with their parents, which is rather sad. Therefore, this passage is meant to show how technology has negatively influenced families.

Butterflies are common all over the world, but butterflies in hotter countries are usually bigger and more brightly colored than those in cooler countries, and they are more different kinds.

Usually the male(雄性的)butterflies are more brightly colored than the females. The females have bigger and heavier bodies since they carry the eggs. The bright colors of the males help to attract the females, and the duller(较暗淡的)colors of the females make them less likely(可能的)to be caught by enemies before they have laid their eggs.

Some butterflies hare bright pattern colors on the upper surface of their wings that show when flying, but when they rest on a tree or leaves, they close their wings. On the undersides of their wings there are green and brown marks which look like the tree or leaves. They are then difficult to be seen. The best example of this is the Dead Leaf Butterfly. When its wings are closed, it looks exactly like a dead leaf. There are even marks that look like the holes in a dead leaf. When the butterfly is run after by a bird, it closes its wings and seems to have disappeared completely.

Many butterflies have round marks on their wings that look like eyes. The round marks have a useful function(功能). When the butterflies are resting, their wings are closed, and these marks can't be seen. When a bird sees one, and begins to attack it, the butterfly will open its wings. The bird thinks that it sees two eyes staring at it, frightened, and flies away.
