Welcome to England! The weather of England is very changeable. It can be rainy, sunny, cloudy, windy, warm, foggy or cold at any time of year. If it's raining when you get up in the morning, it can be hot and dry by the afternoon. The west of England is wetter than the east, and the north is cooler than the south. Just be ready for any kind of weather.  

    In England, shops are usually open from 9: 00 in the morning to 5: 30 in the afternoon. On Sundays some shops are open from 10: 00 a. m. to 4: 00 P. m. But a lot of shops are closed. Banks, museums or other places are open from 10: 00 a. m to 5: 00 P. m. You can go to the parks at any time.

    All the cities have buses, trains and taxis. People wait in line for buses and they are unhappy if you push in at the front. Don't forget this--traffic goes on the left. Be careful!

    There was once a King and he wanted to find out who could paint the best picture of peace. And he would offer a prize to the artist. Many artists tried. The King looked at all the pictures but there were only two he really liked and he had to choose between them.

    One picture was of a calm(平静的) lake. The lake was a perfect mirror for peaceful mountains all around it. Overhead was a blue sky with white soft clouds. Everyone thought that was a perfect picture of peace.

    The other picture had mountains too. But these were rugged(崎岖的） and bare（无遮蔽的）.Above was an angry sky. And it was raining and lightening. Down the side of the mountain, a waterfall fell quickly. This did not look peaceful at all.

    But when the King looked carefully, he saw behind the waterfall a bush(矮树丛)growing in a crack（裂缝） in the rock． In the bush a mother bird had built her nest（巢，窝）, There, she sat on her nest… in perfect peace.

    The King chose the second picture."Because, "said the King, "peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. Peace means to be in the middle of all those things and still be calm in your heart. That is the real meaning of peace.

    Jim is a nice boy. He is 1.7 metres tall. He is from England. Now he lives in China with his mom and dad. One day，he feels sick. He has a headache. He doesn't want to eat anything. So his father takes him to ________ a doctor by car. The doctor says Jim has a cold. He asks Jim to take some medicine and have a good rest at home.

A famous designer(设计师) and a university student produce a new cup called Vessyl. They have spent several years1 it. The smart cup can not only tell Coca Cola from Pepsi Cola,2 also tell people whether they should drink water or not.

When people 3 liquid(液体) into this smart cup, a few seconds(秒) later, it can check this kind of liquid and tell them what it is. Then it gives 4 information of the drink, such as sugar, fat and calories. When people put the cup in their 5 , it can also show them the condition of their bodies. If they are 6 , Vessyl can tell them to drink water.

I am studying in a middle school now. I do well in all my {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. All the teachers like me very much. My dream is to be a teacher in the {#blank#}4{#/blank#} of China. Many children there want to go to school, but they can't. Their families are poor and their parents don't have enough {#blank#}5{#/blank#} to send them to school. I think that going to school is the best {#blank#}6{#/blank#}to change their life. 

The schools there{#blank#}7{#/blank#} teachers greatly, so I want to be a teacher to help them. I will be kind to my students and make {#blank#}8{#/blank#} with them. All the children will like to talk with me, too. I will give them {#blank#}9{#/blank#} and teach them how to be a useful person. I think it is a {#blank#}10{#/blank#}world. I hope my dream can come true.
