阅读下面的短文并用英语回答问题。

There is half a glass of water on the table. Is the glass half empty or half full? This question can represent a situation where there is both opportunity(机会) and trouble, but people with different point of views see the same situation in different ways. Ask yourself this question and see what kind of person you are.

If your answer is "half empty", it shows that you tend to look on the dark side of things. You are a negative-thinking person. You are worried about what you don't have or what you have lost more than what you already or still have. In other words, you are a pessimist(悲观主义者).

If you see the glass as half full, you tend to look on the bright side of things. You are a positive-thinking person. You know you should take the opportunity that comes your way rather than worry about getting into trouble. This is to say, you are an optimist.

We don't live in a perfect world, but if we can change the way we see things, the things we see will change.

(1)、What's on the table?
(2)、According to the article, which two sides does a thing usually have?
(3)、Do you think you are an optimist? Why or why not?

I am Jay from Yangjiang Sunshine Middle School. Recently, we carried out a survey on whom we prefer to share worries with. We got different answers.
According to the survey, about 71% of the students would like to share their worries with their classmates and friends. It is mainly because they believe that if people are at the same age, they are easy to communicate and understand each other better.
About 22% of the students said they would like to share worries with their teachers and parents. They think adults are rich in experience, and that they can solve their problems easily. The rest(其余的) prefer to keep worries to themselves. As for them, it's a struggle to get along well with others, some of them said they didn't want to trust anyone.
In my opinion, I will share worries with my best friends because they're always kind and understanding. However, if I meet with some serious problems, I'll be likely to ask my parents and teachers for help, who, I believe, have more experience to give me valuable advice.

Libraries give kids a quiet and safe place to read and learn. For over 100 years, libraries have played an important role in Americans' education. But how are these book—filled buildings changing with the times? You may be surprised to find out.

Benjamin Franklin famously founded(创建)America's first lending library in 1731. But the public library system got its biggest development in the American history in the late 1800's. Businessman Andrew Carnegie donated millions of dollars to help build free public libraries across the country. Between 1886 and 1919, Carnegie's donations helped build 1,679 new libraries.

Carnegie believed that libraries could offer the chances to Americans, young and old. He knew that the more libraries there were, the more people would have opportunities to read and use books, speeches and news.

If you can easily find a public library in your community(社区), you'll get more chances. After all, the United States has 9,225 public libraries. Today, libraries keep growing. Seven tenths of the libraries have free Internet. It provides much more information and opportunities to ask for jobs online.

Libraries are also teaching kids about the fun of reading. The new program Read! Build! Play! adds reading into playtime. As kids listen to a book that is being read aloud, they use Legos(乐高积木)to build images(图像)from the story happily. Today's libraries are always looking for creative programs to bring people into the library.

Benjamin Franklin once said, "The doors of wisdom(智慧)are never shut." As long as the doors of public libraries are open, what he said is most certainly correct!
