SM Card Cutter

Change regular SM cards to smaller SIM cards.

Did you know you can cut a regular size phone SIM card to a smaller size SM card and it will still work? This tool will help you do it.Just stick a SIM card in it,press it down like a stapler(订书机).A perfectly shaped smaller SIM is there.I've used it many times when swapping SIMs from one phone to another.

Profi Cheese Slicer

Uses a thin wire to slice up to medium-hard cheeses in four inch sections.

I may own every cheese slicer ever made.I prefer a wire type cheese cutter so I can cut slices that work well on a piece of bread and sandwich.

This cheese slicer is great for both tasks. It even has adjustable tension on the two cutting wires.A point of information: I did break a wire cutting a very hard piece of cheese with black pepper.Good news, the wire is replaceable, and I was able to purchase new wires to fix it.Maybe best to use on softer cheeses.Lessons learned. But, highly recommended for every other use except for those extremely hard cheeses.

Ash Bucket(桶子)

Bucket with lid keeps your fireplace(壁炉)clear of ashes.

I purchased this ash bucket recommended by my friend and have found it invaluable.Previously I had an old bucket that got left outside and usually filled up with rain and became a mess to clean. This ash bucket has a raised bottom and thermal insulation(隔热层)to prevent any accidental hot coals in your ash to damage your floor or cause a fire. You can store this bucket indoors since the lid is nice and tight.

Multitasking

What is the first thing you notice when you walk into a shop? The products displayed (展示) at the entrance? Or the soft background music?

But have you ever notice the smell? Unless it is bad, the answer is likely to be no. But while a shop's scent may not be outstanding compared with sights and sounds, it is certainly there. And it is providing to be an increasing powerful tool in encouraging people to purchase.

A brand store has become famous for its distinctive scent which floats through the fairly dark hall and out to the entrance, via scent machines. A smell may be attractive but it may not just be used for freshening air. One sports goods company once reported that when it first introduced scent into its stores, customers' intension to purchase increased by 80 percent.

When it comes to the best shopping streets in Pairs, scent is just as important to a brand's success as the quality of its window displays and goods on sales. That is mainly because shopping is a very different experience to what it used to be.

Some years ago, the focus for brand name shopping was on a few people with sales assistants' disproving attitude and don't touch what you can't afford displays. Now the rise of electronic commerce (e-commerce) has opened up famous brands to a wider audience. But while e-shops can use sights and sounds, only bricks-and-mortar stores (实体店) can offer a full experience from the minute customers step through the door to the moment they leave. Another brand store seeks to be much more than a shop, but rather a destination. And scent is just one way to achieve this. Now a famous store uses complex man-made smell to make sure that the soft scent of baby powder floats through the kid department, and coconut (椰子) scent in the swimsuit section. A department store has even opened a new lab, inviting customers on a journey into the store's windows to smell books, pots and drawers, in search of their perfect scent.

Mary bought a dress in a women's clothing store. She felt very happy about buying the dress until she got home. Then she remembered she had left her purse at the store. It was the third time that month that Mary had forgotten something important.Mary was angry with herself. She said,“Am I losing it?”

Emma was teaching a class in mathematics at a college. She began to explain to the students how to solve a very difficult problem. She understood it very well. But somehow,at that moment, she could not explain it.Emma said,“I must be losing it.”

Americans seem to have a lot of concern about losing it.At least that is what you would think from hearing them talk. They use the expression when they feel they are losing control. It can mean losing emotional control.Or losing the ability to do something.Or losing intelligence.

Word experts differ about how the expression started. Some believe it came from television programs popular in the 1980s.Others believe it began with psychologists, who deal with how people think, feel and act.

“We Americans have many concerns about controlling our lives.Perhaps we worry too much,”one psychologist said.“In many situations to say you are losing it eases the tension(不安).”

It's healthy. And most people who say they are having a problem are not losing it.

People may feel more like they are losing it when they are “down in the dumps”.Word expert Charles Funk says people have been feeling down in the dumps for more than 400 years. The word dumps probably comes from Northern European countries. The languages of Denmark and Norway both have similar words. The words mean to fall suddenly.Americans borrowed this saying. And,over the years,it has become a popular way of expressing sadness.

Many people believe that you lose the ability to learn new languages as you get older. Language experts, however, will tell you that you're never too old to learn a new language. As you get older, it can be more difficult to learn a new language, though.

Children and adults learn new languages in different ways. For children, language is their life. They study for thousands of hours every year, because they need to learn languages to become part of their communities. Adults, on the other hand, are already part of a language community. Learning a new language means becoming part of another language community, and adults rarely get the chance to practice as much as young children do.

Moreover, children learning a new language are expected to make mistakes. This gives them freedom when learning to be daring and confident. Adults, however, often feel stressed to be perfect when learning a new language. This can discourage many people and make it even harder to learn a new language.

When young children learn a new language, they come to see various languages as a “normal” part of society. This mindset helps them to learn a new language without feeling like they're doing something unusual or “too hard”.

So if you want to learn a new language, go for it! It's never too late to learn a new language. If you're older, it may take more work, but it can be done. If you're a young child, though, now is the time to step out and learn a new language!

Aspirin has long been praised as a wonder drug. An aspirin a day keeps the doctor away. Many Americans have been taking one aspirin a day, believing it would protect them from a heart attack a stroke(中风), and even a cancer. But several recent studies have thrown this into question. Daily use of aspirin can have serious side effects(副作用).

One study followed more than 19,000 healthy people aged 65 and older. They were required to take either 100 mg of aspirin (a little more than the 81 mg dose that most people take) or a placebo(无效对照剂) every day for about years, Not only did people in the aspirin group not lower their risk of heart disease, or disability but they were also more likely to suffer from bleeding into the brain or stomach. And they were more likely to die because of an increased risk of giving in to cancer, Similarly, an experiment of more than 12. 500 people aged 55 and older who have a cardiovascular (心血管的)risk found no benefit to taking aspirin daily. In study of more than 15,000 people with diabetes(糖尿病), a daily aspirin did prevent heart attacks and strokes, but it also caused serious bleeding.

Although some earlier research has proved that aspirin can help people who have already had or are at high risk for heart attacks or strokes, the drug's value is not so clear for people, especially older people,

The bottom line is this: Be smart and be safe. You should not take daily low-dose aspirin without talking to a doctor if you.
