In 1901, an Austrian scientist discovered that there are four types of blood. He named them A, B, AB, and O. People have one of these four types. Blood type O is the most common around the world. Blood type A is the second most common, and blood type AB is the least common.

In 1927, a Japanese doctor found that people with different blood types have different personalities(性格), too. He said that people with type A blood are usually calm and serious; people with type B blood are cheerful and outgoing; people with type O blood are generous(慷慨的)and honest; while those with type AB blood are often caring and creative.

More recently, a doctor in the United States wrote a book that connects blood types with what people eat. The book suggests people with type O blood should eat more meat and less bread, A diet for people with type A blood includes more vegetables, His book, Eat Right for your type, has been a hit with people who want to lose weight. However, Dr. Peter D' Adam believes that eating food that matches a person's blood type will make the person healthier in other ways, too.

It's important to teach children to create strong passwords(密码),and to remind them that passwords mustn't be shared with anyone, not even best friends.

A strong password is a word that is as difficult as possible to guess because it looks like a set of random characters (随机的字符).

It's wise to use the whole keyboard to mix a password with letters, numbers and symbols. A password of 14 characters or more may be much safer.

The following tips will tell you how to create a strong and safe password:

Tip 1: Think of a sentence that is easy to remember, but difficult to guess. For example: “ My son Peter is five years old and my daughter Tina is one year old.”The whole sentence is so long that it can't be a password, so what you can do is to use the first letter of each word to make a new password that seems to be meaningless. That is “mspifyoamdtioyo”.

Tip 2: Make the password more difficult to guess by mixing big and small letters. One way to do this is to use big and small letters one after another. In this way this new password will be “MsPiFyOaMdTiOyO”.

Tip 3: Still using the sentence above, you can also add numers that are meaningful to you. As a result, the new password will be “Mspi5yOaMdTi1yO”.

Tip 4: Add punctuation(标点符号)and symbols to make the password much stronger. You may use symbols, numbers and punctuation to replace some letters which look similar. For example: “MsPi3y0@MdTi!y0”.(o=0, a=@, 1=!)

Answer the questions (根据短文内容回答下列问题)
I've always wanted to try rock climbing, but never had time or money for it. But I've discovered a way to experience the thrill(兴奋,紧张) of climbing rock. Indoor climbing is an easy and exciting way to get a taste of rock climbing. And it is also much cheaper and safer! Indoor climbers don't climb on real rock, but on a plastic wall. You can probably find a climbing wall near you. Many gyms,
schools and camps have one.
You can climb in doors at any time of the year, no matter how the whether is. It is usually not expensive. Most gyms provide the equipment you need. The convenience of indoor climbing is one reason why it has become so popular. But the main reason people climb is for rush(刺激感) they get. When I stand at the roof of the wall and look up, I'm always scared, but once I start climbing, fear changes to determination. With my heart pounding(心剧烈跳动), I reach the top and look down. I can't stop grinning. I did it! Indoor climbing is a great workout(锻炼). Climbing uses muscles(肌肉)that are hard to exercise, especially those in the shoulders, arms, chest and back. Many people say climbing makes exercise fun. Most gyms have several climbing walls with various degrees of difficulty. The easier ones are like climbing a ladder. The difficult ones bulge out(凸出)in places so that climbers must sometimes climb parallel(平行的)with the floor.
Although gym climbing is easier and safer than real rock climbing, you should still be careful. Always climb with a partner. As you climb, your partner pulls you climbing rope through something called a belay device(绳索控制器). The belay catches you if you slip. But make sure your partner knows how to use this equipment. And if you are a first-time climber, get some instruction before you begin.

Giving directions in different places

If you ask people of different countries "Could you tell me the way to the post office?", you will get different answers.

In Japan, people use landmarks instead of street names. For example, the Japanese will say to travelers, "Go straight down to the corner. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} The post office is across from the bus stop."

In Kansas, America, there are no towns or buildings within miles. So instead of landmarks, people will tell you directions and distance. For example, people will say, "Go north two miles {#blank#}2{#/blank#}".

People in Greece sometimes do not even try to give directions. They will often say, "Follow me." {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Sometimes if a person doesn't know the answer to your question, he or she, like a New Yorker, might say, "Sorry, I have no idea." But in Yucatan, Mexico, no one answers "I don't know". {#blank#}4{#/blank#} They usually give an answer, but often a wrong one. A visitor can often get lost in Yucatan!

{#blank#}5{#/blank#} You might not understand a person's words, but maybe you can understand his or her body language. He or she will usually point to the correct direction. Go on in that direction and you may find the post office!

A. Turn east, and then go another mile.

B. But one thing will help you everywhere.

C. People there think "I don't know." is not polite.

D. Turn left at a big hotel and go past a fruit market.

E. Then he or she will take you through the streets of the city to the post office.

F. Sorry, I don't know, I'm a stranger here.
