As teenagers, you have many dreams. These dreams can be very big. Such as winning the Nobel Prize, or they can be small, you may just want to become the best student in your class. Once you find a dream, what do you do with it? Do you try to make your dream ①real?

Andrew Matthews, an Australian writer tells us that making our dreams real is life's biggest ②challenge. You may think you're not very good at some school subjects or ③___________ is impossible for you to become a writer. These kinds of thoughts stop you from getting your dream. In fact, everyone can make his dream come true. The first thing you must do is to remember what your dream is.  Don't let it leave your heart. Keep telling yourself what you want. Do this step by step and your dream will come true faster because a big dream is made up of many small dreams.

You must never give up your dream. There will be difficulties on the road to your dreams. But the biggest difficulty ④comes from yourself. You need to decide what is the most important.

    You just said that you didn't think you'd become a writer. Why?

    I didn't know what I would be. There were times when I wanted to be a scientist. I loved reading about biology.

    I never thought about writing stories for adults (成年人). It was always for children because when I was a child, books were so important to me.

    Writing is hard, and if you're not having fun with it, why do it? "Save ( 保存) what you write" is very important because you may need it. You may need that part you cut.

    Yes. Writing can be a good way to discover (发现) yourself. You learn about yourself when you write. Writing also slows your thinking down, and you can make discoveries and go places that you don't expect.

    Short people often have better balance (平衡) than tall people, so they don't fall over very often. In some sports the players must have good balance, for example, table tennis, they don't need to have long legs to run fast! Some of the fast runners in the world are not very tall. This is because they eat better than their parents. Good food can help children grow.

    Every student spends lots of time studying and almost everyone would like their study to be more efficient (高效的). Here are two ways to help you manage your time better when studying.

Your study environment

    Watching TV while studying is a bad idea and makes your study ineffective (无效的). So you'd better turn off the TV while you're studying. Some students like listening to music while studying. Music is OK, but whether it helps or hurts depends on whether it can keep your mind at peace. Make sure that any music you listen to is actually helping you study, but not drawing your attention away. Good lighting and temperature are necessary, too. When it's too hot or too cold, it will be harder for you to give all your attention to what you are working on.

    Full attention for at least 40 minutes at a time

    One of the most important things you can do to study efficiently is to give all the attention to your study for at least 40 minutes at a time. Don't let anything else draw your attention away from the study during the period. Then have a rest and relax. Don't study for too long a time because your brain gets tired and it needs a rest.

    If you choose these ways, you will make an improvement in how you manage your time for study.
