Noodles are a symbolof long life in Chinese culture. They are as much a part of Chinese birthdaycelebration as a birthday cake with its candles lit in many western countries.Since noodles mean long life, it is considered very unlucky to cut it off.

Although westernerssometimes may be very sorry to see fish lying on the plate, in China a wholefish is a symbol of richness. In fact, at a party it is a tradition to servethe whole fish last, pointed towards the most valued guest. Fish also has aspecial meaning because the Chinese word for fish, yu, sounds like the word for richness or plenty, and it isbelieved that eating fish will help your wishes come true in the year to come.

A very popular dishduring the Dragon Boat Festival is Zongzi. This tasty dish is made of rice dumplingswith meat, peanuts or other delicious food in bamboo leaves. The tradition ofZongzi is meant to remind us of a great man, Qu Yuan in Chinese history.

Many people like pandas very much because they are very cute. Most of them come from Sichuan, China. They have white hair and big eyes. Their ears, legs and shoulders are all black. Pandas are usually heavy, but they can climb trees like koalas. They like to eat a lot. It takes pandas a lot of time to eat food every day. When pandas are full, they like to sleep. They sleep for many hours every day. Because people cut down too many bamboo trees, pandas can´t find much food. 

There are not many pandas in the world today. They are in great danger, I think we must help them, We can plant more bamboo trees and be friends to pandas. 

To be honest, no matter how old we are, most of us love it when our parents do things for us. It makes our lives much {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(comfortable), and we have less to worry about.

Some parents have prepared almost everything for their children {#blank#}2{#/blank#}they were born. They consider their grown-up children (sometimes even adults) as babies! They are afraid to let their children go anywhere or do anything by {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(them). As a result, their children fail to learn social {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(skill), and come to depend more on parents!

Friendship Day is a great day for celebrating friendship. It falls on the first Sunday of August every year. Celebrating the festival was firstly started by the US in 1935. But now this doesn't only take place in the US. People in other countries are interested in it, too.

The idea of spending the day with friends was spread all over the world. With more 
and more countries joining in the celebrations, Friendship Day soon became an 
international festival.

Between 1935 and 1997, Friendship Day didn't have a symbol, like Santa Claus 
for Christmas. However, in 1997, the United Nations named Winnie the Pooh as the 
world's ambassador（大使） of friendship.

The traditional celebrations include activities such as meeting with friends and exchanging（交换） cards, flowers and gifts. Some people may have parties with their friends. Some may have lunch or dinner together. Others may hang out or go to the movies with friends on this special day. These are popular among all age groups from teenagers to old people.

Although Friendship Day and its celebrations may have changed over the years, the basic idea behind the festival remains（保持） the same. People enjoy the moment they spend together and express love and care for their friends.
