Millions of people have seen Disney films and TV programmes. They have made friends with all the Disney heroes: Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Snow White, and Peter Pan. Millions more have visited Disney Parks. Probably no other company has pleased so many children. It is not surprising that it has been called a dream factory.

    Walt Disney was born in Chicago, Illinois. Then his family moved to Missouri. He grew up on a farm there. At the age of 16, Disney began to study art in Chicago. Four years later, he joined the Kansas City Film Ad Company. He helped make cartoon advertisements to be shown in cinemas.

    In 1923, Walt Disney moved to Hollywood, California to join his brother Roy.  He wanted to be a film producer or director. But he failed to find a job. So he decided to make animated films. In these films, drawings are made to move in a lifelike way. We call them cartoons. Disney wanted to bring his pictures to life.

    Disney opened his first company in the back of an office. For the first, several years, he had to work hard for a living, but he believed that cartoon films could be popular.

    Mickey Mouse was drawn with a group of circles. The public first saw Mickey Mouse in a film called Steamboat Willie. Walt Disney himself provided the voice for Mickey Mouse. The film was produced in 1928. It was a huge success. Mickey Mouse appeared in hundreds of cartoons during the years that followed. He became known all over the world.

    Here is our pet dog，Mr. Hawkeye. Mr. Hawkeye is seven years old，and we got him from our vet (兽医). He takes in a lot of cats. He receives his name because he is such a hawk (掠夺者) around food. If you are not looking，he will take a sandwich off your plate. He can smell the delicious food in the fridge from another floor in the house，and potato chips are his favourite thing to steal! This comes the name，Hawkeye. Hawkeye was a great animal at the vet. They thought he could bring good luck and he took care of all the new cats，giving them baths，etc. He does that at our house as well. Like I said，he is quite a character and very friendly. He always greets(问候) us when we come home. He has to check out all the bags to make sure if there's food there for him, especially chips!

    Moziah Bridges was born in 2002 in the USA. He is very young, but he is a successful businessman. He has a company which sells bow ties(领结).

Moziah Bridges always believes in his born sense of fashion. He has made full use of it—by creating his own bow tie company.

    When he was 9, he and his grandmother started making bow ties for him to wear. Some of his friends liked his bow ties and want to buy them. Later Bridges started to sell them under the name of "Mo's Bows".

    His business got better and better. He also tried some different ways to make his business more successful. For example, he even took part in a reality show to get help.

    Bridges company is now worth about 1.5 million dollars. Several months ago, he signed a deal with the NBA to make bow ties with NBA team logos(标志)on them. "My dream is to be a famous person all over the world," Bridges said.

We all need good friends and want to get on well with them. But what do you do when you and your best friend have 1 ideas? At first, I didn't know what to do when this happened to my best friend Karina and me.

When we first met at a summer camp, we got along so 2 that we shared stories, laughed a lot, and quickly became inseparable(形影不离的)friends. But then something happened at a picnic. "Did you hear the news about the shopping center?" asked one of our friends Levar. "Some people plan to 3 many trees to make room for a shopping center."

One sunny morning, Fern saw her dad with an ax. She asked her mom what was going on. Her mom told her that a baby pig was born very small and weak, and her dad planned to kill it. Fern felt sad and ran to her dad. She asked him not to kill the little pig. She said it wasn't fair to end its life just because it was small.

Her dad listened to Fern's words and saw how much she cared. He decided to let her keep the pig. Fern was so happy! She named the pig Wilbur and promised to look after him. From then on, Wilbur was part of Fern's family, and they loved each other very much.
