    As the saying goes, many little drop of water make an ocean. A small action may lead to major changes took place in society. My friends and I had participated in a voluntary activity at a nursing home last week. We first did some cleaning or washing. After that we spent half an hour chatted with the old people living there. Though it was a tired day, we were happy with that we did. I felt a sense of responsibility by visiting the old. If all of us lend a helping hand to the people in need, they can live in harmony with each other. A society is just as a family. If we are willing to help others, our small actions can make big difference.

    Yesterday our club held a English speech contest “Challenging Myself”. Many students take part in it and delivered their wonderful speech. A great many of teachers and students crowded into the hall in order that see their performances. On the stage, no matter what pressure the speakers was facing, they bravely overcame them to achieve great success. What's more, they impressed us deep with unusual confidence.     Why is it necessary for us to learn English? This is a good question. First, learning English allows me make more friends. Having more friends mean more ways. Second, with a good command of English, I can travel around the world more easy. The world is such big that I want to have a look. Last, learning English can be help me open the door for another culture. It's of great important to have a better understanding about the culture, that is related to English learning.

    During the summer vacation of my first year in high school, I just stay at home all day long, lying in bed and listening to music. Even my father got tiring of seeing me lying in my rooms. One day, I thought I couldn't live in this way any longer, but I asked my father if he could buy us a basketball and he said yes. He told me that if I really wanted play, I would need to show him. Every time he saw me playing the basketball with my friends, he smiled. Gradual, I became so active that I could concentrate much on my studies than before. Physical activities does help build our character.
