    Sarah was at a concert when she thought of her invention. “I was sitting a long way from the stage and I was watching the band through my binoculars. While I was watching, I thought,' {#blank#}2{#/blank#} 'Then I got an idea. Why not have binoculars with a camera inside them?”

    When she got home, she took some plastic binoculars and a cheap camera and put them together. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} So Sarah sent her idea to Amazon.com and two months later, she got a surprise. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} They didn't give her the top prize in the competition, but she won $1,000 and a trip to New York.

    People are already asking Sarah what she is going to invent next. “I don't know,” says Sarah. “If you just sit there and think, you won't invent anything, because you get ideas at strange moments. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}

    Reflect on your feelings and don't hide them. If you're emotionally hurt, don't hide these feelings. Don't pretend to feel something or avoid what you're going through. This is the process needed when you've suffered from a broken heart.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}Instead, you need to build yourself back up. You'll have to go through the tough part first. Once you've let it out , then you can take the next step to recover from your broken heart.

    Forgive if you're angry.{#blank#}3{#/blank#}That is life. Take something positive out of the situation and hold onto that .You have to accept what has happened, then take the approach of forgiving and accepting.

If you've been in a bad relationship, it should let you appreciate the ones who are still there for you.{#blank#}5{#/blank#} If you start to be shut off with others, it develops more bitterness, loneliness, along with possible depression. So reach out to people and don't use past experiences to affect how you treat them in a negative matter.

    Do college graduates make a higher salary? In general, yes. Those with a bachelor's degree make nearly twice the income of someone with only a high school diploma.

    College grads have higher job satisfaction.

    Another plus for going to college? In general, college graduates are more satisfied with their jobs — 57 percent of college graduates are satisfied in their careers as compared to 37 percent of people with just a high school diploma.     They also have a better social network.

    Penguins are flightless birds that spend half their time on land and half in the water.

    Unfortunately, many penguin species worldwide are facing threats. The biggest is climate change and global warming. As the earth warms up, the sheets of ice have melted, and the algae(藻类)that grow under the ice decrease. The algae are eaten by tiny creatures called zooplankton. When there is a drop in zooplankton, it affects the fish that depend on it.{#blank#}4{#/blank#}

    Another major threat is from oil spills. If coated with oil, penguins cannot float or swim in water. Also, if oil is swallowed, penguins will die from poison.{#blank#}5{#/blank#}

    When you learn anything by heart, you must make sure that you understand it. Always go back after three days and make sure that you still know it. If you have forgotten it, it means that it only centered your short-term memory. Learn it again and go back to it after a couple of days.     It is useful to make revision notes from your textbook or file but you must not assume that making these notes means that you know them. Learning them takes much more time and effort and you must always check your memory after a few days.

    Some definitions（定义）, such as those you are given in mathematics, must be remembered accurately. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}Repeat it over and over to yourself when you get the chance. Check that you still know it after a few days.

    {#blank#}5{#/blank#} Revision is not something that can be achieved by just reading a chapter in a book and vaguely（模糊地）remembering a few sentences immediately afterwards. This is true for class tests as well as for examinations.

    Keep the outline short

    Avoid complete sentences. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. Long outlines with complete sentences end up being unnecessarily wordy. Sometimes they look like full paragraphs rather than brief outlines. Spending too much time and putting too much detail into your outline is effort you could be putting into writing the story itself.

    Choose a point of view

    Once you've written your outline and thought about the story you want to tell, decide at what point the reader enters the story. For you, and especially for the reader, the experience is a more intriguing one if the reader begins the story in the middle of the action. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. It will get your reader's attention immediately. He wants to continue reading surely. A boring opening means a bored reader who has no interest in moving on.

    Avoid giving everything away about the character in the first few paragraphs. Instead, consider different ways you can reveal different facets of the characters to your readers without stating them in an obvious way. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}.
