Keeping a diary in English is one of the effective ways to improve our English writing abilities.

    Polar bears live in environments too cold for most animals. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} much of the year, they live and hunt on the frozen Arctic sea ice. Nature has prepared {#blank#}3{#/blank#} for the cold conditions. But nothing has prepared the bears for the danger that {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (threat)the only home they know.

    The polar bears' world is melting. Studies show that the polar ice has reduced by 9.8% every 10 years {#blank#}5{#/blank#} 1978. Now about 20,000 to 25,000 polar bears live in the Arctic. Polar bears depend on the sea ice for their {#blank#}6{#/blank#}． (survive). “The sea ice is more than just this platform that the bears walk over,” says Andrew Derocher, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} scientist who studies North American polar bear populations. “{#blank#}8{#/blank#}  it, they can't exist.”

    Some melting and refreezing of the polar ice is natural. {#blank#}9{#/blank#} in a warmer world, these cycles speed up, and bears have less time to hunt. Normally, they have three months in the spring when they gain more weight. The extra fat is used later, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} the bears are not actively hunting.

    A reporter from Jiangsu Province went to Australia and some other countries with his father for a 3-month trip. His father spent most of his life {#blank#}1{#/blank#}（work）in the field.     Recently, with the increasing popularity of social websites and personal online blogs, the potentially harmful practice of oversharing {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (become) much more common. Oversharing is the act of sharing too much information, or TMI,{#blank#}2{#/blank#} people who are not necessarily prepared or qualified to receive it. Telling a co-worker you don't want a piece of birthday cake may be acceptable, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} adding the fact that you're on a diet to lose 50 pounds would be oversharing. There are some {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (person) facts others may not need or want to know.

    Some oversharing is the result of a poorly {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (develop) social filter (过滤器) or “shut up button”. Different people may have different ideas over {#blank#}6{#/blank#}constitutes (构成) oversharing or TMI, so they may not realize they are making others feel {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (comfortable).

    Other times the oversharing may be an attempt {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (break) the ice socially. By sharing a few embarrassing {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (moment) with strangers, the oversharer lets others know it's okay to let down their guards and be more open themselves.

    While some oversharing may be OK,{#blank#}10{#/blank#} is generally a good idea to develop a sense of propriety (得体) in order to avoid sharing far too much information.

    Everybody in the world is seeking happiness--and there is one sure way{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(find) it. That is by{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(control) your thoughts. Happiness doesn't depend{#blank#}3{#/blank#} outward conditions, but inner conditions.

    It isn't what you have or who you are or where you are or what you are doing {#blank#}4{#/blank#}makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it. For example, two people may do {#blank#}5{#/blank#}same thing in a place; both may have about an equal amount of money and status --and yet one may be{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(depress) and the other happy. Why? Because they see things{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(different).I have seen just as many happy faces among the poor farmers {#blank#}8{#/blank#}work very hard in the fields as I have seen in air conditioned offices in New York, Chicago or Los Angeles.

    Abraham Lincoln once {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(say) that “most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be”. He was right. If you decide to be happy, then you will always find plenty of {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(reason) to be happy.
