There was a farm in a small country. The farmer's daughter had to carry fresh milk to customers in various villages, one of{#blank#}1{#/blank#}was a priest(牧师). {#blank#}2{#/blank#}（reach）his house, the milkmaid had to cross a stream. People crossed it by raft(竹筏).

    One day the priest, finding it arrived very late, {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(scold) the poor girl. “What can I do?” she said. “I started out early from my house, {#blank#}4{#/blank#}I had to wait a long time for the boatman to come.”

The priest didn't believe her, so they went together to the water and the milkmaid began to walk over{#blank#}9{#/blank#}. Looking back, the milkmaid saw the priest floundering(踉跄) in the water.

     “Sir!”she cried. “You are uttering the name of God, but all{#blank#}10{#/blank#}while you are holding up your clothes from getting wet. That is not trusting in God.”

    One evening years ago in New York, I sat on a bench in a park and watched a little boy, around 2 years old,{#blank#}1{#/blank#} (run) freely on the grass as his mother watched from a short distance away. The boy would fall to the grass,{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(get) up, and without looking back {#blank#}3{#/blank#}his mother, run as fast as he could as if nothing had happened.

    When kids fall down, they don't think of the fall as a failure. Instead, they consider{#blank#}4{#/blank#}as a learning experience. They try again and again until they succeed. While I{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(touch) by the boy's strong mind, I was also touched by the way he ran. With each attempt, he looked so confident and natural. He only wanted to run{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(free) and to do it as {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(good) as he could. He was just being a child—just being himself—being completely in the moment. He never gave up. Each time he{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(fall), he got himself back up again, as if he knew that falling down was simply a part of life. He was not looking for others' smiles, or worrying about{#blank#}9{#/blank#}someone was watching or not. He only wanted to run and to feel the experience of running fully and freely.

    I learned a lot from that experience, and have successfully brought that lesson with me in many{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(part) of my life.

Tim: Jeff, do you prefer working in a group or working alone?

Jeff: I'm good at {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(work) by myself because if I am doing something I like, I can get it{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(do) quickly. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}, if I am working with a team where people all want to do a good job, I think{#blank#}4{#/blank#} team is fun.

Tim: Do you prefer working wearing a uniform or putting whatever you want?

Jeff: I think {#blank#}5{#/blank#} you wear a uniform, sometimes you get respect.

Tim: So, how about a working schedule? Would you prefer a set time job?

Jeff: No. I think {#blank#}6{#/blank#}is difficult to do a set time job. Last year, I {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(produce) furniture in a factory. Every morning, I had to get up at six. When I got home{#blank#}8{#/blank#} work, it was almost eight.

Tim: You{#blank#}9{#/blank#} be very tired. By the way, do you prefer being paid by the hour or do you prefer salary?

Jeff: I think salary may be a{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(good) way to go than being paid by the hour.
