The word "sharenting" (晒娃) is used to describe that parents share lots of pictures of their children on social media. Should parents ask kids before posting photos and other information about children online? What do you think?

Cindy, 16:

I think parents should ask for permission from their kids before sharing their photos online. Some parents like to share embarrassing(令人尴尬的) photos of their kids. For example, sometimes their kids are sleeping or_____ in the pictures. But most kids don't want these photos to be shared online.

Tom, 17:

I am against sharenting. It is not responsible when parents think so little of their children's privacy (隐私) ; however, much sharenting just seems like fun to them. I've also noticed that some parents like to show off their children. Children may not like that. It's far better to share their happiness in the family than on social media.

Sam, 16:

Parents should be able to share something about their children online, because it shows their love and care for their children. In fact, the sharing of information, pictures and moments on social media can play a role in recording the growth of children. Also, it can help children to behave(表现) well.

Tina, 15:

1 think that sharenting is reasonable. First, sharing children's pictures and news on social media gives parents a way to show their love and pride. It's a record of their lives. Second, when the children are grown, the pictures and other items will seem like treasures to them, leading them to recall their young lives.

In 2004, Zhang Guimei saw a girl sitting silently on the side of a road on a cold morning, with a broken basket at her side.

Zhang, a local high school teacher, asked what was wrong. The girl told Zhang that she wanted to go to school, but her family was too poor to afford it. Zhang went to the 14-year-old girl's home and advised her parents to allow their daughter to continue schooling. However, they finally refused her. Unable to help, Zhang left. With the teenager always on her mind, Zhang was trying to work out how to help the local girls.

She came up with the idea of building a girls-only high school where students wouldn't have to pay anything. In 2007, Zhang attended an important meeting. She spoke, through media, to the public about her long-hidden dream. With the support from the local government and warm-hearted people, Huaping Girls' High School was opened in 2008. On the first day of the new school year, 100 students entered the school, most of whom were from mountainous areas. Since she started the school, Zhang Guimei has visited more than 1,600 families, traveled more than110,000 kilometers, and walked to many places to encourage parents to send their daughters to school for more than 15 years, so the girls could improve their education to change their lives.

Thanks to Zhang's efforts to help the students improve their studies, many of them were able to get offers from universities. Zhang Guimei worked silently for years, helping more than 1,800 girls in poor mountainous areas realize their dreams.

The Internet has changed the world, people are able to get and share information in seconds. Nowadays, people begin to wonder: Is the Internet good or bad? "It's impossible to answer that question because the Internet means so many things," says psychologist (心理学家) Patricia Greenfield.

Some are truly wonderful. In many ways it makes life easier and simpler. It helps us get things done more quickly. It opens up the world to us. And if a friend lives far away, the Internet makes it easy to stay in touch.

However, the issue (话题)    isn't black and white. Some can become real problems if we don't take care. Spending too much time online is bad to people's health. It may even cause them to be less social with family and friends. Aside from that, some people attack the web or use the Internet to steal others' personal information, even banking information. Most of the young students think the Internet is simply an icon (图标) on the screen(屏幕). Kids won't realize that the Internet is a network of millions of computers until about 10 years old.

The Internet can be a useful tool, but don't let it take up all of your time. Use the Internet properly and carefully and it can make your life more colourful.
