Mindfulness refers to directing all of your attention and awareness to the present. It can be tough in today's fast-paced world to be mindful. However, if you're intentional about being more mindful during your everyday life, you can live with greater purpose and more happiness.
Whether you're talking with your partner, your children, or a colleague, mindful interactions are important. Stay present in the moment by listening carefully and thinking about how to respond to others in a more mindful manner. In other words, don't cut in while others are sharing their opinions.
Mindless eating is common in your everyday life. Practice becoming more mindful about how you fuel your body. Chew your food slowly and enjoy the taste fully. Notice your body's signals about when you're getting full.
Really focus on the sound, the shaking movement of each note, and the feelings that are stirred up within you, and other in — the — moment emotions.
Actually, there are many mindfulness exercises you can practice on a regular basis. Look for more opportunities around you. Your mind is likely to wander repeatedly. But, with practice and patience, you'll get better.
A. Seek to really hear the message.
B. You may not make it when you first start.
C. Instead, be anxious for a way to talk back.
D. Pay attention to each bite that you're taking.
E. You can also practice mindfulness when having a class.
F. After all, there are many things competing for your attention.
G. Another opportunity to practice is when you're listening to music.
Travel Light
Getting away for a short time always seems like a great idea—until you have to pack. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}The rule is: pack light. Here are some tips to help you pack.
Make a list. Think of what you need from your head to your toes.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} When you've done this once, it'll be easier next time.
2). Consider buying small-size samples of shampoo, toothpaste, and other items at your local drugstore. You can reuse the plastic containers next time you go away too.
3). Choosing which clothes to bring is probably the hardest packing decision to make. Think once again from head to toe — hat, shirts, jeans, sneakers, etc. Once you've picked out what you want to bring, think carefully. Do you really need that extra pair of jeans? If so, fine.{#blank#}3{#/blank#} Don't try to fool yourself. You are the one who will be left holding the bag.
4). Weather is an important factor in your packing. If it's cold, you could wear a jacket, a sweater, a regular shirt, and a T-shirt. Putting them on will keep you warm. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Remember how much easier it will be to carry your bag! As for shoes, you may want to call ahead to see if dress shoes are necessary. If so, one pair will be enough, along with one pair of comfortable shoes. Remember that it is you who have been invited somewhere, not your things. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} So, do it right—pack light.
A. Mixing and matching is a smart and easy way to lighten your load. B. But packing won't be a problem if you remember one simple rule. C. You will have an easier time if you're weighed down. D. But make sure they're really worth the extra weight. E. It's best to bring these things with you. F. And it'll leave more room in your bag. G. Keep the list for future reference. |
A. Choose your friends wisely. B. They may seem to happen quickly. C. They will help shape the future. D. You may appreciate what you have in your own life. E. You will probably want to be independent. F. The choices that you make from now on will be your choices. G. Your family has been with you since you came into this world. |
Tips on Young Adult Life
As you grow rapidly through your teenage years, you will experience a lot of changes. The changes may seem difficult. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Don't panic! You will deal successfully with them! You are a young adult now!
With more responsibility, you will find more freedom to make your own choices. This is a time to be well informed about making choices. In this way you can make healthy balanced decisions. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} You may already know your career path or you may have no idea at all what you want to do. Both situations are fine! Work hard and the right opportunity will show itself to you.
Young adulthood means greater freedom and more choices. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} But try not to shut your family out of your life. You should learn to think of others even though you are old enough to look after yourself.
It is also perfectly natural at this time for you to spend more time with your friends than your family. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} A true friend will stand by you no matter what happens.
This period is a part of the life cycle. There are some people who will be with you throughout life's journey. There will be some people with whom you part and go separate ways. Leaving school can be hard. The reality is that you may not even see all of your classmates again.
You are a young adult. It is your life. No one can live it for you. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} So making the right choices will be important to you. Life is for living. Enjoy your life wisely!
