    I as well as my family are going to New York City this weekend. I had been looking forward to go there for a long time. It is one of the modernist city in the world. Fortunately, the twin towers destroyed on September 11th, 2001 or I would have the chance to see them by myself. Now I am getting ready for the excited trip.     There was an art festival in our school last weekend. It had been held for five years and our headmaster plan to make it a feature of our school. I was so excited, for it was first time for me to join in.

    Early in the morning, there were such many people coming to our school, made it so lively. The students gave a warm welcome to the guest. I walked around or appreciated the paintings. All the works were from the students and I was so impressing by them. There were also some handcrafts, that were so creative. Though we were busy with our study most of the time, but some students still managed to develop their hobbies. I should learn to them and develop a hobby as well.

    It was raining hardly. In his way home from school Peter saw an old man walking with difficult in the rain without an umbrella. Peter went up to him and offered share the umbrella with him.     Every morning John goes to work by trains. He always buys a piece of newspaper, which help to make the time pass quickly. One Thursday morning, he turns to the sports page. He wanted to reading the news about an important football match the night ago. The news was such interesting that he forgot to get off at his station. He didn't know it when he saw the sea. He got off at the next station, and had to wait long time for a train to return back. Of course, he arrived very late at the office.  His boss was very angry when John told him why she was late. “Work is more important than football”, he shouted loudly.

    My senior high school life started as military training (军训). It was included two parts: the theory exam and the physical training, that lasted about two weeks. The latter was much hard than the former. Dressing in green uniforms and exposed to the sun, we had to follow the soldiers' daily routine and go through hard training. Each morning, we had to get up and fold quilts rapid. We must finish our meals in limited times, too. Then I think it unbearable. Besides, now looking back, I find it necessary. It is the military training teaches me how to bear hardship and lead a better life.
