Hi, boys and girls! I'm Gina Green. I'm thirteen {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (year) old. I am {#blank#}2{#/blank#} English girl from London. I'm studying in {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(China) now. I like the weather here because it's sunny and warm {#blank#}4{#/blank#} spring. My favourite food is noodles {#blank#}5{#/blank#} my favourite sport is tennis.

I have a friend. {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(He) name is Frank. He likes {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(swim). He is good at swimming and he can {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(play) tennis very well. Frank and I {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(be) not in the same class, but we often play tennis on {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (Sunday). He is a good friend. 

Joel Sartore is a writer, teacher, and photographer. His words and beautiful images show his love of photography and of the natural world. 

Question 1: How did you become a National Geographic photographer?

My first job was for a newspaper. After a few years there, I met a National Geographic photographer. He liked my photos and said I should send some to the magazine. So I did. That led to a one—day job. And that led to a nine—day job, and so on.

To get into National Geographic, you have to give them something they don't have. It's not enough just to be a great photographer. You also have to be a scientist, for example, or be able to dive under sea ice, or spend maybe several days in a tree. 

Question 3: Is it hard to get a job as a photographer today?

It's now harder to work for magazines. Technology makes it easy to take good pictures, which means there are more photos and photographers. Also, the Web is filled with photos from all around the world that are free, or cost very little. These photos are often good enough to be put in books and magazines. What the magazines need to do these days is to pay for these photos. 

Question 4: I want to be a photographer. Do you have any advice for me?

Advice? Well, work hard. Be passionate (热情的)about every project you work on. Take lots of pictures in different situations. Look at others' photos thoughtfully and learn from them. And be curious about everything. There's something to photograph everywhere. 

David was a truck driver. Recently he was thought to be a great man.

Last Monday, he was driving along the road with his son and his friend. Suddenly he saw a car hit another truck (卡车) and catch fire. The accident was just in front of his truck. Without thinking, he stopped his truck, found a fire extinguish er (灭火器) and ran towards the broken car. But other car drivers still sat in their cars. David began to fight the fire. His action encouraged his friend. He also came and gave David a hand. Later, David's son and four other men came to help. Another five men pulled the car driver and her granddaughter, a three-year-old girl, out of the car successfully. They were all safe except that the driver's leg was hurt.

When people talked about David's brave action, David said, " I didn't think too much then. I just did what other people would do in that situation. When I first got out of the truck,I wished they wouldn't be dead. When I saw they were alive, it was really great!"

Mr. Wang is a teacher in our school. He teaches us English. He walks to work every day.
