Because earthquakes happen without warning, it's important to take steps now to prepare. Because you don't know where you will be when an earthquake happens, prepare some supplies for your home, workplace, and car.
1. Water.
    A person needs at least 1/2 gallon of water daily just for drinking. Store at least 1 gallon of water per person per day and be prepared for a 72-hour period. It is suggested that you buy bottled water. Keep bottled water in its original container and do not open it until you need to use it. Also, do check the “use by” date.
2. Food.
    It's always a practical idea to keep a supply of non-perishable(不易腐烂的) food on hand. Have an enough supply of canned food, powdered milk, dried fruits, non-salted nuts and canned juices for at least 72 hours.
3. Flashlights(手电筒) and spare batteries.
    Keep a flashlight beside your bed, at your place of work, and in your car. Do not use matches or candles after an earthquake until you are sure that no gas leaks.
    Prepare a battery-powered radio and spare batteries. Most telephones will be out of order, so radios will be your best source of information.
4. Clothes.
    If you live in a cold place, you must think about warmth. You might not have heat after an earthquake. Think about your clothing and bedding supplies.

    Giraffes are beautiful, smart and friendly. They have long legs and necks (脖子). They are so tall that they can grow up over 5 meters (米). So how do they sleep or drink?

    You may think it's difficult for them to sleep, but they have no such problems because giraffes don't often stop for a sleep. Giraffes just need to sleep about thirty minutes a day. When they sleep, they don't always lie down (躺下). They usually sleep for minutes at a time, because it's difficult for them to get up again. And it's a great danger to sleep in the wild (荒野). But the giraffes in the zoo sleep for about 4-6 hours every day. They usually lie down when they sleep.

    Drinking water is a big problem for giraffes because their long necks are too "short". To drink water, they must spread (伸展) their front legs in a difficult way. And in this way, other animals like Africa's big cats can easily hunt (猎食) them. So they usually get most of their water from the trees and flowers. Giraffes don't need to drink water very often. They can even drink no water for months!

British people are big tea drinkers. It is a tradition in Britain to drink tea for many reasons. People enjoy it at breakfast, during visits with friends, and on tea breaks at work. People even "have a cuppa" when they talk about their personal problems. But the biggest reason for drinking tea is to relax.

Recently, a research from the Tea Group shows that more people would like to choose fruit and other teas over traditional English breakfast tea. Researchers did a survey of more than 2,000 tea lovers. Over 50% of people said their favourite tea was not the traditional one. Over 20% of people chose green tea as their favourite tea. Just over 20% said English breakfast tea was their first choice.

Sales of traditional tea in the UK are declining (下降) during these years. Three years ago, a survey found that English breakfast tea was the preferred (更喜欢的) choice for 54 % of British people. But the new research shows a declining interest in this traditional tea.

The researchers also found other interesting facts about tea-drinking habits (习惯) in the UK. The British seem to love milky and sugary tea. Around 85 % of people who drink English breakfast tea would like to put milk in it. About 45% of people sweeten their tea with sugar, and interestingly, those with a sweet tooth put as much as three teaspoons of sugar in their cup.

If you cannot live without your car. Zurich might be the last city you would like to visit. In Zurich, people are welcome, but cars are not! Over the past 20 years, this city has used smart ways to make traffic lighter. 

One is to keep the same number of parking spaces（停车空间). For example, if 50 new parking spaces are built in one part of the city, then 50 old spaces in other parts are taken away for other uses. So the total（总的）number does not change. Some are unhappy that there are never enough spaces. That is just what the city has in mind: If people find parking more difficult, ____.

Also, the number of cars in the city is counted（计数）. Over 3, 500 little computers are put under Zurich roads to check the number of cars that come into the city. If the number is higher than the city can deal with（处理）, the traffic lights on the roads that enter the city will be kept red. So drivers who are traveling into Zurich have to stop and wait until there are fewer cars in the city. Now, you may ask why Zurich is doing this. This is because the city wants to make more spaces for its people. What's more, it can provide people with a comfortable and beautiful environment(环境) . Most of people who live here agree that they feel happier than before! 

We know exercise is important（重要的）in our life. Everyone needs to exercise. Doctors say doing sports is beneficial for us. Sports can make our body strong. Children should also do some sports. It's good for them. If children often do sports, they can be stronger and taller. Doing sports is easy. Here is some advice（建议）for you.

You can walk, run or only jump. These are easy ways. Every day you walk to the classrooms and have PE class.

Don't do sports too much at a time. Try all kinds of sports and look for one, two or even three sports you like. People exercise for an hour every day have better sleep and more energy（能量）.

You can also exercise at a gym or on the sports field. In the gym, you can play basketball, play tennis or play badminton. After school, you can run or play football on the sports field. Exercise can be fun. It can make you happy.

Friends can exercise together. You can do sports with your friends at any place you like. You can also join the running club together.

As you can see, you can try different ways to do exercise. And Just do it!
