When kids in parts of the world want to play, they often make soccer balls out of trash tied together with string. “{#blank#}1{#/blank#} the areas used for playing fields are often rough and rocky, millions of real balls go flat (变瘪){#blank#}2{#/blank#} 24 hours,” says Tim Jahnigen, a California businessman. Determined to solve this problem,{#blank#}3{#/blank#} created an indestructible ball called the One World Futbol.

    The ball is made of {#blank#}4{#/blank#} special material, ethylene-vinyl acetate foam. It's lightweight, it's flexible, and—{#blank#}5{#/blank#} important—it holds its shape.

    The One World Futbol needs no pump {#blank#}6{#/blank#} won't wear out, even on rough surfaces. When tested,{#blank#}7{#/blank#} withstood (经受住) being crushed by a car, and even being chewed on by a lion.

    Although it costs more to produce {#blank#}8{#/blank#} a typical soccer ball, Jahnigen estimates the One World Futbol can last 30 years. So far, it's been given to kids in 143 countries. 

In China, a site that amazed me was one {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (provide) by nature—the Hukou Waterfall on the Yellow River, the mother river of the country.

    The Yellow River was a main source of transportation in the past. Many ports and bridges were built and destroyed by the river's strong current(水流), and it was {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (challenge) for the locals back then to build a bridge {#blank#}3{#/blank#} was strong enough to withstand(承受) the current of the Yellow River.

    About 1,500 years ago, the locals of Puzhou, which is now Yongji,{#blank#}4{#/blank#} (make) several iron oxen anchors, each {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (weigh) more than seventy metric tons to hold a floating bridge across the Yellow River. It was amazing to see these{#blank#}6{#/blank#} person and I was astonished by the {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (wise) and workmanship of people back then.

    The hotels that {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (arrange) for us to stay in were among the best in each city we visited, which sums up {#blank#}9{#/blank#} China was shown to me, with sights both beautiful and amazing {#blank#}10{#/blank#} kind and helpful people.

    Wang Kun and his sister, Wang Wei, {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(dream) about taking a great bike trip ever since middle school. Each of them bought a mountain bike. Knowing that she was a stubborn girl, {#blank#}8{#/blank#}decision could not be changed once she had made {#blank#}9{#/blank#}her mind, Wang Kun had to give in. Before the trip they went to the library and found a large atlas with good maps {#blank#}10{#/blank#}helped them know more about the Mekong River.
