Jane Goodall, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} is famous for chimp research spent years {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (observe)and recording chimps' daily {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (behave). She discovered {#blank#}4{#/blank#} chimps eat are meat, fruits and nuts. She also discovered chimps can communicate with each other, and her study also can help chimps lead  {#blank#}5{#/blank#} safer as well as happier life.

    For forty years, Jane has tried her best {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (make) the world understand that wildlife is {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (respect). She has argued that wild animals should {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (leave) in the wild instead of in the zoo.

    She said once she separated from chimps, all the memories would crowd {#blank#}9{#/blank#}. She remembered the chimps in labs and small chimps in cages though they had done nothing wrong. She will continue helping them. Her achievements are {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (inspire) for us to do more.

    I won't call myself the most accomplished person when it comes to {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (hold) chopsticks. In fact, I'm pretty sure that my technique looks clumsy at times. I tend to hold {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (I) in the middle, more beginner than expert.

    They are wrong. We always kept bamboo chopsticks along with our {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (knife), forks and spoons, ready for whenever we happened to have Chinese food for dinner. It was my closest family {#blank#}8{#/blank#} observed my first mistakes I made in using chopsticks.

    Plus, I lived over two years in China before Jun and I started dating and I {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (expect) to use chopsticks in almost every restaurant, stand and bar. Trust me, when you're hungry you figure out pretty fast what it takes to down(咽下) {#blank#}10{#/blank#} meal with these utensils.

    Agricultural experts say crop diversity is important to feed the{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(increase) population of our planet. They say having a large variety of plants also{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(help) to protect against possible crop diseases and future crises. But many experts say the number has decreased sharply during the past century.

    One of the world's {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(large) seed conservation projects has predicted further losses. The Millennium Seed Bank Partnership is warning that up to one hundred thousand plant species could {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (permanent) disappear. The rich collection of genes{#blank#}5{#/blank#} decide their qualities would disappear with them.

    Many experts blame climate change and loss of habitat, normal growth area, for damaging plant life. They say human{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(activity) and poorly planned, overly heavy use of land also are responsible. Modern business farming is responsible{#blank#}7{#/blank#}loss of farmers' traditional crop varieties. The "Green Revolution" of the twentieth century changed agriculture. Some experts say the use of modern commercial farming methods saved millions of people from{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(starve). Farmers planted, watered, and fertilized their crops with the help of machines. They treated their fields with chemicals{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(control) diseases and insects. Harvests grew larger and higher quality,{#blank#}10{#/blank#} another result was that some traditional crops were lost. Damage to the environment over the past century makes people believe that crop diversity also suffered.

    It's not often {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (sun) in Paris, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} people still love to walk along the banks of the Seine (塞纳河畔). They love the view of the city's old buildings, especially Notre Dame Cathedral (巴黎圣母院) and the world-famous Eiffel Tower, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} have become the Iconic (象征性的) symbol of Paris for hundreds of years.

It is Victor Hugo's novel, the Hunchback of Notre Dame {#blank#}10{#/blank#} reminds people to protect the beautiful old buildings. We hope the historical building can be reconstructed soon.

    Daisy is a girl who cares about our environment. She always longs to help {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(endanger) species of wildlife. One day, she {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(wake) up and found a flying carpet which took her to many{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(place) to experience something amazing. In Tibet, Daisy saw an antelope looking sad and it told her the species was being killed. Then the carpet showed her a place {#blank#}4{#/blank#}there was some wildlife protection. There she came across {#blank#}5{#/blank#}elephant, from whom she knew they used to be hunted {#blank#}6{#/blank#}mercy. But now good things are being done to save local wildlife. Knowing that, Daisy burst into {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(laugh) in relief. At the end of the journey, she met a monkey {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(rub) itself to protect himself from mosquitoes. The monkey asked her to pay {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(much) attention to the rainforest. Finally, Daisy {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(full) understood the meaning of no rainforest, no animals, no drugs.
