Few people would even think of beginning a new job at the age of 76, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} one of America's most famous artists did just that. Anna Mary Robertson, better known as "Grandma Moses", turned to painting {#blank#}2{#/blank#} she was too old to work on her farm.

    Grandma Moses was crazy about painting soon after she picked it up and worked hard at it. She painted{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (care) and her works were nice .She first painted only to please {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (she),and then began to sell her works {#blank#}5{#/blank#} a little money. In 1993,a collector, Louis Caldor, happened to see several of Grandma Moses' works {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (hang) in a shop. He liked them {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (buy) them at once, and set out to look for {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (much).Caldor held {#blank#}9{#/blank#} show to introduce the works of Grandma Moses to other artists. Grandma Moses, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} was world-famous ,died on December 13, 1961,at the age of 101.

    When you are thirsty, you can drink some green tea. It tastes good and it's very healthy. The Chinese {#blank#}1{#/blank#} （know）about the benefits of green tea since ancient times, and they use {#blank#}2{#/blank#} to treat everything from headaches to depression. They have {#blank#}3{#/blank#}（actual）been using green tea as a medicine for over 4,000 years.

It is especially effective at getting rid of the bacteria on your {#blank#}9{#/blank#}（tooth）and keep them healthy!

    According to the Chinese proverb, “It is {#blank#}10{#/blank#}（good）to go without food for three days than without tea for one.” So, in brief, you should definitely try a cup of green tea. It seems that it can only do you good.

    I was on my way home with a friend yesterday {#blank#}1{#/blank#} I found a mobile phone by the roadside. After picking it up, I suggested that we go to the house in front of which we found the mobile phone. And we did so. I {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (knock) at the door and two young men answered. Neither of them had lost {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(they) phones, but as I referred to some names on the contact list(通讯录), one of them said he also had those {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(name) and that it must be the phone of one {#blank#}5{#/blank#}their friends. Then, he took the phone and said how wonderful it was that I took the time {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(find) the owner. Afterwards, I left without {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(leave) my name or address. I never considered keeping the phone. Instead, I immediately tried to find {#blank#}8{#/blank#} owner. And I believed that was {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(exact) what I would want someone to do if I lost my phone. It couldn't have been {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (good).

The Creator of Middle Earth

    John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, better known as J. R. R. Tolkien, was born in 1892 in South Africa. His parents had moved there looking for {#blank#}1{#/blank#} better job for his father. Three years {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(late), his mother took him on a trip to England to visit family. While they were away, they received terrible news that his father had died.

    {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(grow) up without a father must have been difficult for Tolkien. Worse still, when he was only twelve years old, his mother also passed away. As a child, he had a great passion for language and in 1908, he went to Oxford University {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(study) languages and literature. In 1915, he joined the army and fought in the battle against the Germans. But soon, he became too ill to fight and returned {#blank#}5{#/blank#} England the following year. He didn't have a {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(satisfy) childhood himself, so around in 1933, he spent much time telling his children fantasy {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(story) of a hobbit (霍比特人) called Bilbo. He first put it in writing in 1936, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} turned out to be a surprising hit. The publisher asked him to write another. He did so and in 1948 published The Lord of the Rings, which {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(publish) in three volumes between 1954 and 1955.

    Tolkien, {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(age) eighty­one, died in 1973.

    Schools in the UK are trying the use of classroom robots in {#blank#}1{#/blank#} attempt to ease the growing teacher shortage. So far, two primary schools in Plymouth {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (start)to use the machines as possible replacements for teaching assistants. Britain's lack of teaching staff has been worsening over the last decade and shows no sign of improving. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (graduate) are unwilling to enter the primary   education department and many teachers are giving up the teaching jobs for careers in other fields. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (face) with this alarming shortage, some schools believe that robots might soon be able to fill the gap. Tests have shown that teachers can train the robots within just three hours by showing {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (vary) classroom techniques. These methods are then copied by the robots and used in a real classroom setting {#blank#}6{#/blank#} real students are doing tasks. In one example, the robot teacher {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (success) guided the   students through {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (challenge) tasks, giving them praise and encouragement when necessary. The project has been met with mixed reactions from teachers. Some are concerned that the robots are here to take their jobs, {#blank#}9{#/blank#} others optimistically regard the machines {#blank#}10{#/blank#} a way to reduce their heavy workloads.
