①You go home from work. You are tired, you want to turn on the TV and watch something fun. Your children want the same. What is better than a cartoon film?

②In fact, many cartoon films draw adults' attention. For example, Anomalisa, a film for adults, has been a success. And there is also the chance that adults will love a kid's film more, for example, The Incredibles. So, what is the reason(原因) behind it?

③First, a lot of cartoon films are really good. Plenty of gifted people join hands in making films like Toy Story and Ice Age. Screenwriters, programmers and musicians are all working together to bring the best result.

④Also, they bring out the memories(回忆) of our childhood. Remember the time when you were a child, and you used to turn on the TV and enjoy cartoons. Well, cartoon films bring out that special feeling.

⑤Cartoon films have well-written roles facing difficult situations. For example, Woody has to deal with the fact that he may not be Andy's favourite toy in Toy Story. Sometimes the stories are even better than those in adult films. So, it's not surprising that adults will love cartoon films.

⑥Moreover, by watching a cartoon film, we forget the boring life and leave our problems behind for the moment. Who would refuse to have his own personal Baymax (from Big Hero 6), a man who shares a hug every time there was sadness? If only our lives could be full of good-natured animals and brave children!

There are 520 boys and 500 girls in our school. The school made a survey（调查）about our favorite sports. Here are the results.

After seeing the results, the P. E. teacher advises us to join different sports clubs. He also encourages（鼓励）us to try some new sports. It may bring us some surprises.

My good friend Mary is my cousin. She is three years{#blank#}1{#/blank#}than me.I am fourteen years old and she is eleven now. She is very friendly and{#blank#}2{#/blank#},so she has many friends.She is {#blank#}3{#/blank#}in music and    wants to be a singer when she grows up.

When she was six years old, she started to learn singing.She wants to be a great singer,{#blank#}4{#/blank#}she says it's difficult.She practices singing every day.She{#blank#}5{#/blank#}sings in shows and I love listening to her singing. We talk about everything together and we always{#blank#}6{#/blank#}some—thing interesting with each other. My favorite saying is "A true friend reaches for your hand and {#blank#}7{#/blank#}your heart."Mary is a friend like this.

Mary is very busy{#blank#}8{#/blank#}she also studies photography（摄影）in her free time．She takes lots of{#blank#}9{#/blank#}.They are all very wonderful. Last year, she{#blank#}10{#/blank#}the first prize in the photo competition.

I am lucky that I have so good a friend.

When it rains, we often use an umbrella. When the sun shines brightly in summer, we often use an umbrella. But do you know 1  the umbrella was invented? It is said that the umbrella was made by Lu Ban and his wife over two thousand 2  ago. 

Lu Ban was a famous carpenter(木匠). He 3  went out to work. One morning, when Lu Ban's wife was 4  her way to take the lunch to her husband, it was raining harder and harder, and she had to enter a small 5  nearby. She thought, " How wonderful it will be if the small temple(寺院) can move with me!"

As soon as it stopped 6 , she left the temple and walked on. After a while, it began to rain again. She 7 , but there was no house nearby. She had to lift her 8  to stop the rain from dropping to her head and her clothes. She held the handle(把手) of the basket and walked in the rain. She found the basket looked like a light small moving 9 . 

Suddenly she had an idea, "I'll 10  a small, light, moveable house, then I can take it with me when I am away from my house. "

As soon as she 11  home, she began to make"a moveable house" with bamboo. She worked hard for the whole 12 , but she failed. In the evening, Lu Ban came home. His wife told him her idea. Lu Ban was very 13  to hear that. 

As a carpenter, Lu Ban was very good at his job. He quickly set to work. He and his wife worked on it until midnight. 14 , a small, light, moveable" house" was successfully invented! It was made of wood, bamboo and silk. Lu Ban and his wife 15  it" umbrella", And today there are all kinds of beautiful umbrellas all over the world. 

 Every man wants his son to be somewhat of a clone(克隆). So do I. My son Jody has  1 school since day one in kindergarten. Science projects waited until the last moment. Book reports weren't written until the last minute.

I' ve been a  2 all my adult life. My daughter is a university student who is  3 in learning language. Jody? When he entered the tenth grade he became a"vo-tech" student(技校学生). They' re called"motorheads" by the rest of the students.

I was  4 when an assistant in my office first called him" motorhead". "Hey, he' s a good kid," I wanted to say. "And smart, really."

I learned later that motorheads are, indeed,5 . They usually have dirty hands and wear dirty work clothes. And they don't often make school honor rolls(光荣榜).

 But being the 6 of a motorhead is itself an experience in education. We who work in clean shirts in offices don't have the  7 that motorheads have. I began to learn this when one day my car 8 . The cost to repair it was about $800. "Hey,I can fix it," said Jody. I  9 it, but let him go ahead. To be honest, I think I had nothing to  10 .

My son, with other motorheads, fixed the car. They got  11 from a junkyard(旧车场), and ability from vo-tech classes. The cost was $25 instead of $800.

 Since that  12 repair job, a broken air-conditioner, a non-functioning washer and a fridge have been fixed. Neighbors and co-workers trust their car repair to him.

 These kids are happiest when doing  13 . They joke and laugh and are living in their own relaxed world. And their minds are bright14 their hands and clothes are dirty.

I have learned a lot from my motorhead: publishers need printers, engineers need mechanics. My son may never make the school honor roll. But he made15 . I don't want him to be my clone anymore!
