Charlie Chaplin was considered to be one of the most popular {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (star) in the early days of films. He brightened the lives of people throughout the world {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(use) his perfect acting. Charlie was born in a poor family and lived {#blank#}3{#/blank#} hard life in his childhood. His parents were both poor hall performers,{#blank#}4{#/blank#} didn't make much money. Therefore, at a very young age, Charlie had to learn {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (sing) and dance. By his teens, his subtle acting had become so entertaining {#blank#}6{#/blank#} no one in England was ever bored watching him mime and act the fool doing ordinary everyday tasks. In 1972, he won a special Oscar {#blank#}7{#/blank#}his outstanding work in the films that he wrote, directed, produced, and starred in. He made people laugh even when they felt depressed. And no one has done {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (well) than him up to now.

    Charlie lived in England and the USA but {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(spend) his last years in Switzerland, where he died of {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (nature) causes on December 25, 1977.

    As we slowly drove down the street on that cold December evening we noticed the light in front of a door.

    We pulled up, walked up the steps,{#blank#}2{#/blank#} knocked on the door. We heard a faint voice from inside, "Come on in.{#blank#}3{#/blank#}door is open."

    We opened the door and saw an elderly woman{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(sit) in a rocking chair." I've been expecting you," she said{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(weak). That was Rose, one of our Meals-On-Wheels stops I had arranged. We handed Rose the gifts the teens had prepared{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(early) that evening. Then I asked Rose{#blank#}7{#/blank#}carols(颂歌) she would like to hear. Rose was getting more{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(cheer) as she joined in singing each song she loved.

    Later, as we hugged Rose good-bye she said to me, "The other day I asked God if it would be possible{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(send) some Christmas Carolers to my home. Thank you for being the answer to my Christmas prayer."

    Wow,{#blank#}10{#/blank#}great it is to have the opportunity to be the answer to someone's Christmas prayer!

Yoho National Park is a Canadian national park. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (cover) an area of about 507 square miles, it was established in 1886. Yoho National Park {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (know) as one of the four famous national parks in the Canadian Rockies. Because of its special {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (locate), Yoho National Park has many mountains, including Mount Stephen, Mount Balfour, Mount Goodsir and so on. The {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (tall) mountain among them is Mount Stephen. There are also waterfalls in the park. Wapta Falls is the largest waterfall. And Takakkaw Falls is {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (official) known as the second highest measured waterfall.

Yoho National Park is close {#blank#}6{#/blank#} three other national parks in the Canadian Rockies. To the north is Jasper National Park, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} is the largest of the four. Banff National Park borders (接界) Yoho from the east. Kootenay National Park, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (name) after one of the two rivers that flow into it, is located to the south.

Although most people like to visit Yoho during the summer, there are quite {#blank#}9{#/blank#} sizable number of visitors during the spring and autumn. Common summer {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (activity) include camping, climbing, hiking, fishing, and wildlife viewing.
