Hello! This Chinese boy is Li Lei. He's 12. He's in No.3 Middle School. He's in Class 2, Grade 1. His good friend is Jack. He's an English boy. He's in Li Lei's school. He's in Class1.Grade2. Mrs Read is an English teacher in their school. She's an English woman. Jack an Li Lei has a secret(秘密)—-Jack is their English teacher's son.

    Dad was walking around the house seriously. He walked here and there in a hurry. He needed his glasses so he could read the newspaper. He likes reading. But he could not remember where he had put his glasses.

    First, Dad looked in the bedroom. He looked on the bed and under the bed. Next, Dad opened the closet. He looked in the pockets of his brown coat. He even looked inside his winter boots. Then Dad went outside to the car. He looked on the seats of the car. He searched under the car seats, too. Dad came back inside. He walked into the living room and looked around. Then he sighed loudly.

    Mom and Wendy were sitting there, and they heard Dad sigh. "What's wrong?" asked Mom. "I've looked everywhere for my glasses, but I can't find them," he said. Wendy and Mom looked at Dad. Then they smiled at each other. Dad was always losing his glasses, but this time they were not lost. Mom and Wendy knew just where they were. "Maybe Mom and I can help you," said Wendy. "That would be great," said Dad. "I've looked in the bedroom, in the closet, and in the car. I don't know where else to look."

    Now Mom and Wendy started to laugh. Dad looked surprised. "What's so funny?" he asked. When Dad looked in the mirror, he laughed, too. His glasses were on top of his head.

    1970 was World Conservation (保护) Year. The UN wanted everyone to know that the world was in danger. They hoped something could be done.

    Here is one example of the problem. At one time there were about 1,300 kinds of plants, trees and flowers in Holland, but now only about 866 are left. The others have been destroyed by modern people and their science. We are polluting earth, air, water and everything around us. We can't live without these things. If things go on like this, we shall destroy ourselves.

    What will happen in the future? Perhaps it's more important to ask "What must we do?". More and more young people have known this. Many of them are helping to save our Earth. For example, they plant trees. In a small town in the United States, a large group of girls cleaned the banks of 11 kilometres of their river. Young people may hear about conversation through an album called "No One's Gonna Change Our World". It includes songs of Cliff Richard and other singers. The money from selling it will help to conserve tigers, elephants and pandas on Earth.

Once upon a time, in a large community, there lived a teenager named Emma. Emma had always been known for her kindness and pity towards others. She believed the power of small acts of kindness could make a difference in people's lives. 

One day, Emma noticed a new student named Ethan sitting alone at lunchtime. Sensing his loneliness, Emma decided to offer a welcoming hand. She went to Ethan with a warm smile and invited him to join her and her friends at their table. 

Ethan didn't know what to do at first, unsure of himself in this new environment. But Emma's actual kindness broke through his barriers(障碍), and he accepted her invitation with thankfulness. From that day on, Ethan found a sense of belonging and friendship that he had longed for. 

Inspired(激励) by Emma's kindness, Ethan decided to pay it forward. He reached out to another shy student, Lily, who was struggling with her confidence. Ethan's small act of kindness lifted Lily's spirits and excited a newfound confidence in herself. 

The ripples(涟漪)of kindness continued to spread throughout the school. Lily, inspired by Ethan's kindness, became a guider to younger students, providing guidance and support. Those younger students, in turn, grew up to pass kindness in their interactions with others. 

As the years passed, the influence of Emma's act of kindness grew more and more rapidly. The school turned into a good community that the people volunteer to help each other, where small acts of kindness were celebrated and encouraged. 

My pen friend, Li Hao, comes from Taiwan—one of the biggest {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (岛屿) in China. His parents are scientists and they work in a{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(研究) centre. They are working hard to help all the animals in{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (危险). He is also{#blank#}4{#/blank#} (感兴趣的) in helping the animals live in peace. Last weekend, he wrote a letter to me. He told me that most of his classmates wanted to help. So they decided to {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(筹钱) money in their school. They{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(提出，提议) to put on a play {#blank#}7{#/blank#}（叫做）Teahouse, which tells the changes in Chinese {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (社会) in the first half of the {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (第二十) century. At the end of the performance, they were very{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (开心的，满足的) because they could help the animals. What exciting news it was!
