My pen friend, Li Hao, comes from Taiwan—one of the biggest (岛屿) in China. His parents are scientists and they work in a(研究) centre. They are working hard to help all the animals in (危险). He is also (感兴趣的) in helping the animals live in peace. Last weekend, he wrote a letter to me. He told me that most of his classmates wanted to help. So they decided to (筹钱) money in their school. They(提出,提议) to put on a play (叫做)Teahouse, which tells the changes in Chinese (社会) in the first half of the (第二十) century. At the end of the performance, they were very (开心的,满足的) because they could help the animals. What exciting news it was!
Recently, a video on Bilibili got lots of attention. About 1, 000 students across China talked about what they would want to be in the future. Some students wanted to be scientists because they thought that science was interesting. Other students would like to be teachers or doctors. They thought that their parents would be happy if they chose the jobs. When I was a young boy, my parents told me I could do what I liked. I usually laughed and thought this was a bit silly. However, I really thanked them for their advice and help with my learning. At the age of 18, I got the excellent advice from several teachers. They told me how important it was to have a dream. Then I volunteered(自愿)to work at a summer camp in Guangzhou. There I learned that making dreams come true is the biggest test in my life. All these experiences made me want to work as a teacher. I am looking for more ways to tell my students to keep their dreams alive. According to my favorite book, The Four Disciplines of Execution, there are four steps to reach what you want to do. Pay attention to your"important goals", develop steps to reach them, try to make progress(进步)and finally check your progress. |
