Last week, I took a part in an English speech contest. There are twelve students in the final contest. I was one of the lucky student. Fifteen minutes after my turn, I picked my topic and prepared for it. I wrote down the outlines and organized what I was going to say. However, when I stood in front all the judges and students, I was extreme nervous. Then I took a deep breath to relax me and started my speech. The result was not good, because I regarded it as a challenge, which process was the most important.

    Having learnt a lot from the contest, I am sure I will do it much well next time.

    Most people in the United States don't learn to speak the second language. High schools teach languages. And very few students learn to speak good. Why don't Americans speak other languages? The United States are a very large country. Americans can travel a long distance and not leave the United States. They do not need learn a second language. And many people in other part of the world spoke English. If Americans travel to other countries, they can speak English in here, too. But some Americans think that is a mistake to speak English only. They believe it is very importantly to learn a second language.

    Today the number of the netizens(网民) in our country have increased rapidly, yet many of them do not pay enough attention to the family. It is no doubt that we benefit much from the Internet. For an example, it's convenient for us to get the informations we need and communicate with our friends and relatives. Meanwhile, it could help us learn that is happening both at home and abroad. Therefore, no matter how attractive the Internet is, we shouldn't separated from our loved ones. We should stop surf the Internet and spend time with our families, enjoying the time when you are together.

    After the busy school life started again a month ago, the more exciting part of it came in September when my classmates and I attended the very Heritage Across Borders Program which took place at Zhejiang University. The program mainly focused at how heritage is valued and preserved.

    As young activists in heritage protection, we felt it honored to meet the world's leading group of researchers and professional in heritage .studies. We are deeply impressed by their skills. Besides, their anecdotes were extreme interesting.

    China is highlighted what is known as cultural confidence nowadays, but we are proud of our efforts to preserve local heritage.
