In 1940, four teenage boys and their dog were walking through woodland close to Lascaux, when their dog suddenly disappeared. The boys searched all around. They came to a cave and looked into the cave{#blank#}1{#/blank#} could see nothing.

A few days later, the boys returned to the cave. They could hardly believe {#blank#}2{#/blank#}eyes. In the weak lamplight, the boys saw red horses and cows, and black bulls and deer charging across the walls of the cave, which looked so {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(frighten) that the boys jumped back in fear. Little did the boys know that they had made one of the most important{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(discover) of that century.

The Famous Lascaux Caves consist of a large hole and{#blank#}5{#/blank#} series of connecting caves, with a natural water system. The paintings there were an especially important find because they are so numerous and so well preserved. After a few years, the caves were opened{#blank#}6{#/blank#} a tourist attraction, and 1,200 people per day came to the site{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(admire) the paintings{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (fortunate), many visitors resulted in changes in the cave's atmosphere, and green algae (水藻) began to grow around the walls.     Should naps(小睡) actually{#blank#}1{#/blank#} (take) during the day? Well, we certainly know from{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(evident) in the sleep center and that of many other scientists that naps can give you benefits for both your brain{#blank#}3{#/blank#} your body. But naps can actually be{#blank#}4{#/blank#} double-edged sword because while we're awake during the day, we're building up sleepiness or sleep pressure. So when you try to fall asleep at night, you'll fall asleep quickly and then you'll stay asleep. And when we sleep, we actually release that sleepiness so that we wake up the next morning feeling{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(refresh).

So if you take a nap during the day, especially if you take it too late in the afternoon, you will actually release some of that sleepiness and it will make it much{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(hard) to fall asleep and stay asleep soundly throughout the night. So the advice would be if you don't struggle with your sleep and you can nap{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(regular), then naps are just fine.

But if you do find it difficult{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (fall)asleep or stay asleep at night, then you should avoid naps and try to build up that healthy sleepiness in the evening.

The ideal nap depends on{#blank#}9{#/blank#} you want from that nap. Different stages of sleep actually give you different types of brain and body{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (benefit).

New research says nuts could be a {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (value), tasty and nutritious slimming aid. Researchers from Harvard University recommended that people replace a daily unhealthy snack with a small handful of nuts {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (slow) down weight gain. This is {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (especial) helpful for people as they get older. The researchers found that people who ate just 14g of nuts every day gained less weight {#blank#}4{#/blank#}those who ate another snack. The people who ate the nuts were less likely to become obese (肥胖的). However, the benefits to our weight could be quite small. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (eat) nuts instead of chocolate and cakes could help prevent a weight gain of just 0.4 to 0.7kg over four years.

The researchers conducted a long-term study in which they looked at {#blank#}6{#/blank#}lifestyle of nearly 190,000 people for over two {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (decade). The participants in the research {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (divide) into three groups. They included more than 51,000 male health professionals aged 40 to 75, 121,700 nurses aged 35 to 55 and 16,686 nurses aged 24 to 44.
