Itzhak Perlman, a famous violinist, came on stage to give a concert. He was stricken with polio（小儿麻痹症）as a child, so getting on stage is no small {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (achieve).

Nosey and the Porcupine（豪猪）

    She quietly slipped out of the yard and headed towards the woods. Soon after Nosey arrived in the woods, a butterfly landed on her nose. She reached for it, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} it few away. Then Nosey {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(spot) it again on a berry bush. When she was within striking distance, she jumped. The butterfly fluttered out of Nosey's reach once more, but it was too late for Nosey {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(stop). She landed directly on top of the berry bush with a crash. At first, she was astonished by the sudden fall. Then she was shocked to find {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(she) face to face with a sleeping porcupine under the bush!

    The arrival of a {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(noise) visitor caused the porcupine to wake up. Nosey had ever seen a porcupine before, so she gently sniffed at it with her nose, {#blank#}9{#/blank#} really annoyed the porcupine. He turned around and the quills（棘刺）on his tail were standing up. {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(sudden) Nosey found herself with a nose full of quills.

    With the{#blank#}1{#/blank#} (develop) of industry, air pollution is getting more and more serious. In Beijing, many people suffer different kinds of illnesses because {#blank#}2{#/blank#}air pollution. Air pollution is caused by the following {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(reason): about half of the problem is caused by vehicles. There are more and more cars, buses on the roads, and they give off {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(poison) gases. 25% of air pollution is caused by factories. Another factor is the smokers. Smoking not only does harm to their health {#blank#}5{#/blank#}to others. {#blank#}6{#/blank#}these, about 10%of air pollution is caused by other reasons. We should take some measures to fight {#blank#}7{#/blank#}pollution. New fuel can be used to take {#blank#}8{#/blank#} place of gas. We can plant more trees.     I was visiting Australia a few weeks ago. I knew I couldn't leave the surf capital of the world {#blank#}1{#/blank#} having a try myself. I booked a group surf lesson when I was in Byron Bay, which is a really popular place for {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (skill) surfers to go and catch some waves!

    We started off with a warm-up by doing some stretches and going for a jog along {#blank#}3{#/blank#} beach. After this, we were ready to go out and try it out on the water. I had tried a couple of times but failed before one of the {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (coach) came to help me and held my board steady.

    Finally I started to get the hang of it and by the end of the lesson I managed {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (stand) up on the board by myself, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} was a pretty awesome feeling. Now I can't wait to try it again, although I'll definitely need to wear a wetsuit if I'm surfing in the UK!

    All the customers who went to the new supermarket had one strong wish to be the lucky customer who did not have to pay {#blank#}1{#/blank#} her shopping, for the notice inside the entrance {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (say), "Remember, once a week, one of our customers gets free goods. This may be your lucky day!"
