Eleven straight victories! The Chinese women's volleyball team won the world championship at the 2019 FIVB Women's World Cup in Osaka, Japan. This is China's fifth World Cup title, following the team's victory in 1981, 1985, 2003 and 2015.
Among all the Chinese sports teams, the women's volleyball team remains the most special one. During the 1980s, the Chinese women's volleyball team jumped up, achieving five straight championships after the 3rd and the 4th Volleyball World Cup, the 9th and the 10th FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship and the gold medal of 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games. At that time China was experiencing a tough period in its own national development. The achievements those Chinese volleyball players had made and their spirit were a big encouragement for Chinese people to work hard and get out of the darkness.
Known as the "Iron Hammer", Lang Ping was a member of the team that inspired the whole nation. Now as the head coach of the national team, she leads her girls in winning more glories. Her team still represents the best things that sports can offer to the Chinese: perseverance(坚持),courage and unity.
In the future, there's still a long way to go and there surely will be both successes and challenges. No matter what happens, the Chinese women's volleyball team will keep its pace(步调) to create more miracles. And China is also going to keep its spirit of never giving up and take on whatever challenges that may lie ahead.
