Now, you may be thinking, "Oh my goodness, how do I start to get better sleep? " Well, beyond avoiding the damaging and harmful impact of alcohol and caffeine on sleep, and if you're struggling with sleep at night, avoiding naps during the day, I have two pieces of advice for you.

The first is regularity. Go to bed at the same time, wake up at the same time, no matter whether it's the weekday or the weekend. Regularity is king, and it will anchor your sleep and improve the quantity and the quality of that sleep.

 Your body needs to drop its core temperature by about two to three degrees Fahrenheit (华氏) to initiate sleep and then to stay asleep, and it's the reason you will always find it easier to fall asleep in a room that's too cold than too hot. So aim for a bedroom temperature of around 65 degrees, or about 18 degrees Celsius (摄氏度).

And then finally, in taking a step back, then, what is the mission-critical statement here? Well, I think it may be this: sleep, unfortunately, is not an optional lifestyle luxury.  It is your life-support system, and it is Mother Nature's best effort yet at immortality (长生不老). And the decrease of sleep throughout industrialized nations is having a disastrous impact on our health, our wellness, even the safety and the education of our children.  And it's fast becoming one of the greatest public health challenges that we face in the 21st century.

    So what is the solution? There's an easy way. Decide what you want in your life, and put that first. On a daily basis, that should include regular meals, enough sleep and time with your family. Exercise, leisure, friendships and hobbies should also be regular aspects of life. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} The choice is yours: whatever makes you feel good about yourself and your life. Take a nap. Take a walk. Take time to play the piano. Stop bringing your briefcase home from the office. Stop keeping your house as clean as your mother kept hers. Fill more of your time with want-to-dos instead of have-to-dos.

    Think ahead .The moments when I think cooking is a pain are when I'm already hungry and there's nothing ready to eat. So think ahead of the coming week .When will you have time to cook? Do you have the right materials already?{#blank#}2{#/blank#}

    Make your time worth it. When you do find time to cook a meal, make the most of it and save yourself time later on. Are you making one loaf of bread?{#blank#}3{#/blank#}.It takes around the same amount of time to make more of something. So save yourself the effort for future meal.

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#}This may surprise you, but one of the best tools for making cooking worth your time is experimentation. It gives you the chance to hit upon new ideas and recipes that can work well with your appetite and schedule. The more you learn and the more you try, the more ability you have to take control of your food and your schedule.
