What are the best ways to study at home?

Here are some of the best ideas for (health) study habits:

1 Create an area for studying

Where you study is important. It should be quiet, with good light to read by. You want enough room to spread out your books and notes. A table or desk works (good). Be comfortable but not too comfortable. Do not study on your bed, for example. You might fall asleep!

2 Cut out the noise

Some people study, better silence. Others like to have a little noise, like soft music playing. Go with helps you focus.

3 Cut out the distractions

Give yourself a break from social media. Put your phone away. And turn off the television. All these things pull you away from what you (try) to learn. Tell the people you live with you are studying and need time alone to work.

4 Take breaks

Treat yourself after reading something, (work) through a math problem, or completing some other tasks you set out to do. Get up, step away from your work and move your body. Go outside for a few minutes and get some fresh air.

5 Eat so-called "brain foods" that are good for you

Foods like nuts, seeds, yogurt, berries and fish help your mind keep strong. Sugar may be (appeal), but too much sugar will give you an energy "crash.” And, don't forget (drink) plenty of water.

One more thing: When you study, think good thoughts! Avoid bad thoughts like, "I'll never be ready for this test." Instead, tell (you) what you can do: "I can understand and remember this material!"

According to a study published in the journal Nature Sustainability in February, China and India are{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(main) responsible for making the Earth greener over the past two decades. Since 2000, the Earth's green leaf area{#blank#}2{#/blank#} (increase) by 5 percent, or over 5 million square kilometers. That's{#blank#}3{#/blank#}area equal to the total area of the Amazon rainforest. It is basically the result of many big tree-planting{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(project) in China and intensive agriculture(集约农业)in both countries.

China and India contribute{#blank#}5{#/blank#}one third of the increasing greening, but contain only 9 percent of the planet's land area covered in vegetation(植被). China was the major contributor,{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (add) 25 percent to this increase, while India added 6.8 percent.

Over the past few decades, China has made great efforts to green the land. In 1978, China {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(begin) a national-level forestation project-the Three North Shelterbelt Forest Program, also{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(know) as the “Great Green Wall”. The program has seen many trees planted in northern China to act as windbreaks (防风林). By the end of 2017, the forest coverage rate had reached 13.57 percent, compared to 5.05 percent 40 years ago.

In the light of China's{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(succeed) in greening the desert, the UN believes the country is a good example for others{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(follow) and has lessons to share with the world.

A computer program has beaten a human player at the ancient Chinese board game Go(围棋). It marked an important advance for the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (develop) of artificial intelligence. The program, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (call) Alpha Go, had taught itself how to win. It beat the European player in all five games of a match in October. The developers say {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (it) learning ability may someday let computers help solve real world problems. Those could include making medical diagnoses and {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (explore) scientific research.

Previous computers have beaten humans in other games. But among classic games, Go has long been viewed as the most challenging game for artificial intelligence to master. Therefore, many people find it {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(accept) when AlphaGo won the human player.

Go involves two players who take turns putting markers on a checkerboard-like grid (格子).  Players obtain the opponent's pieces {#blank#}6{#/blank#} surrounding them. The rules are simple, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} playing it is not. It's {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (probable) the most complex game ever created by humans.

Martin Mueller, a computing science professor, {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (work) on Go programs for 30 years. He once said, "The new program is really a big step up from everything else that we've seen. It's a very {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (amaze) piece of work."
