In many European countries it is normal to have a long break in the middle of the day when all members of the family return to their houses to eat together. This is not very {#blank#}1{#/blank#} in Britain because normally it is a long way from the place of work or school to the home. The {#blank#}2{#/blank#} people often have a big breakfast before they go to work and the meal at midday is not{#blank#}3{#/blank#} _with the members of the family but with workmates or schoolmates. Lunch is normally{#blank#}4{#/blank#} between 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm. Most people finish work at five thirty. It often take at _{#blank#}5{#/blank#} an hour to get home from the school or workplace so people eat their meal {#blank#}6{#/blank#} "dinner" between 6:30 pm and 9 pm.
On Sundays people don't have to work so they take the {#blank#}7{#/blank#} to eat together with their family. Sunday lunch is {#blank#}8{#/blank#} the best meal of the week and many of the meals which are considered real British food are eaten for Sunday lunch, such as roast beef and pudding.
{#blank#}9{#/blank#} everyone in Britain understands that "breakfast" is the first meal of the day, there is a lot of confusion(混乱) about the words for other meals such as "dinner, lunch, tea, high tea, elevenses, brunch, supper". And if you ask a British person what these words {#blank#}10{#/blank#} , most of them will give you a different answer according to what part of the country they are from.

Anna comes from Russia. She is 17 years old. She's going to stay with the Black family for a year. Anna comes to England because she wants to study English. She helps Mrs. Black{#blank#}1{#/blank#}housework and goes to English {#blank#}2{#/blank#} every Wednesday and Friday afternoon.
Anna is now in London. Everything is new to her. She finds life is{#blank#}3{#/blank#}from that in Moscow. Some things are great in London, but many things are not so nice. The shops are{#blank#}4{#/blank#} in London than those in Moscow. But it's very expensive to{#blank#}5{#/blank#}breakfast in London.

    What day do you like? I like Friday. I have {#blank#}1{#/blank#} classes in the morning and {#blank#}2{#/blank#} my classes are great. My {#blank#}3{#/blank#}  class is Chinese. It's easy and fun. The second class is English. It is interesting {#blank#}4{#/blank#} me and I like it. My English teacher, Mrs. Wang, always {#blank#}5{#/blank#} English is very useful. That's for sure! Then I have a math class. I think math is really difficult. But my math teacher, Mr. Li, is a very nice man. I always ask {#blank#}6{#/blank#} for help. P.E. is the last class. Oh! It's my favorite, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} I can play ping-pong with my classmates. We always have a good {#blank#}8{#/blank#} in P.E. We have lunch {#blank#}9{#/blank#} class. I eat chicken and vegetables for lunch. I don't eat hamburgers. I want to be {#blank#}10{#/blank#} .
