Moments of joy for Chinese superstars

July 27 to August 12, 2012 was a great time for London. It held the 30^th Summer Olympic Games. There were 10,500 athletes (运动员) in the Games. They 1 26 sports. Many young Chinese athletes gave us a wonderful2, They helped China get 88 medals(奖牌)in all. Let's have a look at some great moments!

Lin Dan, 28, badminton

Lin Dan won the gold medal in the men's badminton. At the beginning of the games, Lin fell behind but he never3. When he finally won the match, Lin shouted and ran happily across the gym(体育馆).

Sun yang, 20, swimming

Sun yang is the winner of this year's men's 1, 500m freestyle. He was born into a sporting family. His parents were once volleyball players. He is 4. He swims 20, 000 meters every day.

Chen Ding, 20, racewalking(竞走)

Few pcople knew Chen Ding before the London Olympics. He won the gold medal in the men's 20km racewalking. Chen once gave up racewalking 5 health problems. But he went back to the field. He is clear about his future. “If I want to win more, I need to keep going,” he said.

Ye Shiwen. 16, swimming

Ye Shiwen surprised the swimming field by two gold medals this year. Throughout the year the Chinese swimming Team has 6 many athletes abroad for periods of training, Ye is one of them. She knows that she has much to be learned. And her training really worked.

Xu Lijia, 25, sailing

Xu Lijia won the gold medal in sailing. It is not easy for her to win. She has hearing difficulties. Her left eye is far-sighted. 7, she has a strong mind and train hard.

School started again, and soon the ink(墨水)in Tom's spelling book was found. Tom said he hadn't split the ink, but that made it look as if he were lying. Becky almost said Alfred Temple had done it, but she kept quiet. She thought that Tom would tell the teacher about her tearing(撕)his book, so she didn't save him. Mr Dobbins beat him and then Tom went back to his seat。

After an hour Mr Dobbins unlocked his desk and took out his book, Tom looked over at Becky. She looked like a hunted and helpless rabbit. The next moment the master faced the children. There was a long silence, then he spoke, "Who tore this book?"

There wasn't a sound. The teacher searched their faces.

"Benjamin Rogers, did you do it?"

Benjamin said no.

"Joseph Harper, did you?"

Joseph also said no. Dobbins looked at the rows of boys, thought for a moment, then turned to the girls.

"Amy Lawrence?"

A shake of the head.

"Gracie Miller?"

The same sign.

Becky was next. Tom was shaking from head to foot.

"Rebecca Thatcher?"—(Tom looked at her face; it was white with terror)— "did you tear?—no, look at my face—did you tear this book?"

Tom jumped to his feet and shouted, "I did it!"

The children stared(盯着) in surprise at his foolish act.

And when he stepped forward for his punishment, he saw the surprise, the thanks, and the love that came from Becky's eyes.This was enough for one hundred beatings. And he didn't even mind staying for two hours after school, because he knew that Becky was waiting for him outside.

Tom went to bed that night planning some actions on Alfred Temple, for Becky had told him everything. And he fell asleep with Becky's last words to him in his ear, "Tom, you are so great!"

My Life in the Primary School
