Students in Suzanne Middle School have carried out many interesting surveys online. Here are some of them.

Online shopping is changing how people buy things today. If you need new clothes but don't want to go out, your smartphone or computer is here to help you. However, according to a survey of 15,000 consumers between the age of 13 and 21 in 16 countries, most of them still prefer physical stores.

Some US parents have felt the need to go offline. However, a recent survey showed that despite their best efforts, most of them couldn't stop using their smartphones and iPads.

Who makes you laugh the most?

We all need a good laugh to cheer us up now and then. People are looking for different ways to get some fun in everyday life. Many like to watch comedies or read jokes. But a survey of 1,258 US teenagers found that 70 percent of them said it is their friends that make them laugh the most.

Do you want to be a boss?

We have read quite a lot of news about teenagers setting up

their own companies. Although most teenagers haven't started to do the same thing, it doesn't mean that they don't want to. According to a survey of 1500 US teenagers from the age of 13 to 18, 79 percent of them said they would like to have their own business.

Recently, a short video showing a member of the cleaning staff at the Summer Palace in Beijing explaining Buddhist tourist sites(佛教景点) drew wide attention online.

In the video, Zhang Xu explains the tourist sites to several visitors who are doing research. What makes it special is that he expertly names a list of hard-to-pronounce Buddhist sites. He speaks so easily and confidently that it seems he is doing a tongue twister(绕口令). {#blank#}1{#/blank#}  But he is wearing the uniform worn by the cleaning staff and holding a broom(扫帚). After the explanation, Zhang smiles and returns to his work as though nothing has happened.

Zhang became a member of the cleaning staff at the palace in late 2021. He is required to walk about 40,000 steps inside the palace every day. So he knows a lot about it. "The traditional architecture of the palace is not just a number of bricks(砖块). {#blank#}4{#/blank#} They know how to speak to people who understand them," Zhang said. "They show the beauty of traditional Chinese architecture."

A. The video was shared online by the tourists.

B. I often read books about it in my spare time.

Why is it called breaking?

Breaking started in the 1970s, in New York City, US. At parties, dancers got up to perform during musical " breaks", which gave breaking its name. Breaking is now an important part of hip- hop culture around the world.

How to breakdance?

Breaking has four kinds of moves. A " top rock" is when a breaker dances| while standing up. A" down rock" is when a breaker dances on the floor, moving their arms and kicking their| legs. A " freeze" is when a dancer stops in the middle in a cool position, like standing on their head or| balancing with one hand. " Power moves" are really fast spins and twists that look like the dancer is flying or| spinning like a top.

Anyone can be a B- girl or a B- boy, which is what breakers call themselves. Victor Montalvo is a B- boy from the US. " Breaking is amazing. It doesn't matter what color you are, who you are, where you're from: it welcomes all kinds of people," he says. " It's all about peace, love, unity, and having fun."
