The most popular TV program in the UK last year was a show called The Great British Bake Off. Each week{#blank#}1{#/blank#} people take part in the competition. They are trying to make the best cakes and bread within a time limit. There are two judges, and each week they choose a “Star Baker” (the best baker). They also choose one person to leave the competition. At the end of ten weeks there is one winner.

    The program started in 2010, and nobody{#blank#}2{#/blank#} it to be so popular. People really enjoyed watching the baking and the good atmosphere on the show. The people in the show were very friendly to each other. This was very different from other TV show. Some people think the show is rather British, with a good sense of {#blank#}3{#/blank#} and friendly people. Audiences also enjoyed learning how to make different {#blank#}4{#/blank#}of cakes , biscuits and bread.

    This year there were some changes in the show and even some new judges, but the show is as popular as before.

    Come and meet my best friend, Lily. Lily is a beautiful girl. Many people like her because her good look. So do I. As my best friend, she likes to do same things {#blank#}1{#/blank#} me.

    We{#blank#}2{#/blank#} like singing and reading books. There are also some {#blank#}3{#/blank#}between us. I am shy and I always like to stay by myself. Lily is much outgoing than me. She is {#blank#}4{#/blank#} in telling jokes. She often makes me {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. She is good at sports, too. She plays sports every day to keep healthy. She thinks it is not necessary for friends (to be) the same.

    One day, an 11-year-old boy, Robby, came into my classroom for his first piano lesson. Over the {#blank#}1{#/blank#}, he tried very hard to learn the pieces, while I listened and encouraged him. However, he was not good at {#blank#}2{#/blank#} the piano.

    At the end of each week, he would always say ,"My mom is going to hear me play on the stage some day, "Then one day Robby {#blank#}3{#/blank#} coming to my lessons. I thought he gave up learning the piano.

    Several weeks {#blank#}4{#/blank#} our school planned to hold a concert. To my surprise, Robby came and asked {#blank#}5{#/blank#} he could be in it. He said his mother had been sick and unable to afford his piano lessons, but he was still practicing. I agreed to let {#blank#}6{#/blank#} play.

    Robby was the last to play at the concert. He chose a Mozart's piece. {#blank#}7{#/blank#} six and a half minutes, he ended. In tears, I ran up to hug Robby. " I've {#blank#}8{#/blank#} heard you play like that, Robby! {#blank#}9{#/blank#} did you do it? Robby explained, "Well, in fact my mother had cancer, but she comes here today. So tonight is the {#blank#}10{#/blank#} time that she has ever heard me play on the stage. I wanted to make it special".
