    The movie tells a story about a tutor, Maria. She is a young and outgoing woman. She goes to look after a family with seven children. Their family name is Von Trapp. Mr. Von Trapp is a captain. He and his family live in Austria.

    The family are very sad after the children's mother, Mrs. Von Trapp, died. Nobody takes care of the children. They cry and shout every day. The lonely father often becomes angry because of the noisy children.

    Maria often teaches them to sing lively songs and perform short, funny plays. At first the father is almost mad, but the children's smiling faces make him happy again. Then Mr. Von Trapp falls in love with Maria. At last they get married.

    When the Princess Renee heard about Broo, she came down from her astle. She found Broo while he was busy eating honey.

    "Mr. Bear," the Princess said, "you are welcome in Nahloo. Here we share with each other. We don't take things from each other."

    Broo thought about it for a moment and knew that he had made a mistake. "Well," he said, "maybe drinking all that milk wasn't the best idea."

    The Princess went on, "Mr. Bear you can drink and eat but you won't feel good because you have never made any contribution(贡献)to anyone else. I think you'll find that it is better to be full in your heart not just in your stomach." After saying this the Princess went back to the castle leaving Broo alone.

    One day Broo was going to take lots of cookies from the rabbits, and then he remembered what the Princess said to him. So Broo decided not to eat the cookies. The rabbits were surprised and said "Thank you for your kindness, Mr. Bear. Now these cookies will taste sweeter because they are given by you, my friend. If you like, come back tomorrow and we can have the cookies together."

    Broo was filled with joy and went through the land. He gave back everything he had taken. In return, he received a promise(承诺)from everyone to share their food with him. Broo was so glad that he started dancing in the moonlight with the Princess as his partner.

    Every year hundreds of people try to climb the world's highest mountain or walk through rainforests(雨林). Let's take a look at two of the 21st century's(世纪的) greatest adventurers(冒险家).

    A mountain climber

    Do you know that more than 4，000 people have climbed Mount Everest? Gerlinde is one of them. She is one of the world's greatest climbers and has climbed all the mountains over 8，000 meters in the world. It's difficult to climb mountains in cold weather, but Gerlinde loves it. She started climbing the mountains near her home as a teenager. When she left school, she became a nurse but always went climbing in her free time.

    An Amazon adventurer

    Ed Stafford is the first person to walk along the Amazon River from the mountains of Peru to the mouth of the river in Brazil. His journey took two years and four months. There are many dangerous animals in the rainforest. But Ed was lucky and he was only bitten(咬) by small insects(昆虫). On his trip, Ed had to look for fruit or catch fish each morning. Sometimes food was hard to find and Ed was often tired and hungry. So he used a radio to ask the people of the rainforest for food and help.

    Some children are flying kites near the river. They are very high and Peter can see them in the classroom. After lunch his aunt comes to see his mother and brings a kite to him. It looks like a bird. He wants to fly it but his mother doesn't let him do so.

    "It's time to go to school. " says his mother. "You can play it after dinner. "The boy is unhappy, and says goodbye to his aunt and leaves. Now he is in the classroom but he doesn't listen to Miss Black. She writes something on the blackboard and then turns to the class and finds this.

    "Name nine things with milk in them, Peter. " she says. The boy doesn't hear her and still sits there. A boy in Row 4 taps his back and he understands it. He stands up and Miss Black asks him the question again. He thinks for some time and then says, "Yes, madam, tea, coffee, cake and… er…six cows. "
