One Tuesday morning, Harry saw all ad(广告) in a window. It said, "Wanted, the Best Salesman in the World. Top Pay." Harry thought he was a great salesman and went to ask for the job. "I am the best salesman in the world," he said to the manager, "Give me the job."

    "You must prove you're the best," the manager said.

    "OK, I will!" Harry answered.

    "Good!" The manager took a box of sweets out of his desk. "Last week I bought a thousand boxes of sweets. If you can sell them all before the end of the week, you can have the job," said the manager.

    "That's easy," Harry said. He took the boxes of sweets and left the office.

    Every day and all day, he went from shop to shop, trying to sell the boxes of sweets. But he couldn't sell one. The sweets were too bad for him to sell. At the end of the week, he went back to the manager. "I'm sorry, Sir." he said. "I was wrong about myself. I'm not the best salesman in the world, but I know who is."

    "Oh," said the manager, "Who?" The person who sold you a thousand boxes of these sweets," Harry said.

    "What are you busy with yourself, Mum?" the girl of six years old asked her mother. "Making dinner for the neighbour aunt." her mother answered.

    "Why?" the little girl asked again. "Because the other day the aunt lost her dear daughter in the earthquake(地震)and she is so sad now. We must take good care of her these days. "

    "Why does she need our care?" asked the girl.

    "Because the aunt doesn't want to do anything without her daughter. Making dinner and doing housework are also becoming difficult for her. I don't know how to help her. My dear, can you come up with an idea to make the aunt feel better?"

    After that, the girl went to the neighbour's house and knocked at the door. "What can I do for you?" asked the poor woman. "My mother says you're very sad without your daughter…"The girl handed a band-aid(创可贴)to the neighbour. Tears ran down from the woman's eyes. She took the girl in her arms and said. "Thank you, band—aid will help me."

    We go to school every day to become better people. How can we start to make big changes in our lives? Perhaps we can get tips from former US First Lady Michelle Obama. During a visit to China from March 20 to 26 in 2015, Obama shared her views on education and youth empowerment with students.

    The first lady encouraged Chinese students to aim high and get a good education. At Chengdu No 7 High School, she told students that having humble roots doesn't matter as long as you have perseverance (毅力). Obama said her family was not rich. Like many Chinese students, her parents had big dreams for her. She felt the weight of her parents' sacrifices (牺牲) on her shoulders and worked hard to make them proud. Persevering was not easy, though. Sometimes she had to wake up at 4:30 am and study late into the night. "But whenever I got tired or discouraged… I would remember something my mother always told me. She said: A good education is something that no one can take away from you.'"

    Mrs Obama also encouraged Chinese students to study abroad to broaden their horizons (开阔视野) in a speech at Peking University. "As the Chinese saying goes: It is better to travel 10,000 miles than to read 10,000 books," she said. It's not enough to get good grades in school. It's also important to have real experience with languages, cultures and societies that are different from your own, she noted. Studying overseas can also benefit future international relations. It can help young people from different countries work together to deal with shared problems like climate change, Obama said.

Ever since "Mother Nature" gave me life, I expected to grow tall and big.

As a young 1 , I was well protected in the forest. I used to 2 a good time with my friends under the blue sky and 3 the river. Our only purpose was to stand high. My pal, Tim often said, "All I ask for is to be 4 the whole day."

365 days passed and we grew straight. On that day, it was our 5 birthday, people came, moved us from the 6 and put us on their trucks. "I don't want to go!" Tim cried.

After a long journey, we arrived in a completely different place with 7 green. Here we were planted in a line. 8 the wind blew strongly, I could not even open my eyes to see Tim 9 beside me. So we needed enough 10 to grow thicker and higher to stop the wind.

As time went by, we finally 11 much stronger. I could keep my eyes open in the wind! I even found the blue sky was back!

This was no longer a no-man's-land, and hundreds of visitors came here. A man took a picture of us with his 12 . "Thank you. We can enjoy clear days 13 worrying about sand storms." A young girl jumping up and down came over and 14 me. "Thank you," she said. "It's you that have turned the desert into a green land!"

Tim and I smiled at each other, feeling 15 . The sun was shining brightly in the bluer sky.

In Cixi, Zhejiang province, every family was enjoying the May Day holiday. A middle-age d man put down his chopsticks and went out with a tool bag, leaving his wife at home. He is Qian Haijun who was honored the title of "Model of the Times" on May 6th 2022.

Qian Haijun is a worker who deals with electric problems. In the past 23 years, he has spent all his spare time in helping a number of families with electric problems. Qian Haijun has made 500 cards with his name and telephone number and handed them out so that people would know who to call when a problem comes. He answers every call at any time and values them very much. People often say he not only lights up the rooms, but also lights up their hearts. He also pays much attention to the group of elderly people over 60 who live on their own. He realizes that the elderly need companionship（陪伴） more than anything else. Over the past few years, he has become the"good son" of more than 100 elderly people. 

His stories were made into a mini movie, and even the Ningbo and Cixi Volunteer Service Centres are named after him. Under his leadership, more than 1200 volunteers have joined the project for the disabled, covering places like Zhejiang, Tibet, Guizhou and Sichuan. And they have provided help more than 30000 times. 

"I am a common person, I will never think about stopping offering help to people in need, and Iwill try my best to bring beauty to the world", he said.
