On most weekends, you can find Zoe Stone. 8. in front of a computer. But she isn't playing games or watching videos. She's learning how to write code.

    Code is a set of instructions (指令). It tells a computer what to do. Coders are the people who write the instructions for a computer. Coders make websites or apps. Apps can be used for everything from playing games to checking the weather. Coders solve problems and work together. They know how to think big and small.

    Zoe began to learn coding when she was 4 years old. She uses coding to create art, solve problems and make games. Zoe likes coding because it's creative. "Coding is really fun," she said. "You can show what you think in what you make."

    How does Zoe learn coding? She takes classes at Code. org. The website offers hundreds of free code lessons for kids. In fact, more than 29 million students in 180 countries use it. It hopes to bring coding to even more kids.

    "We believe that every child should have the chance to learn about computers and coding," said Alice Steinglass, the president (负责人) of Code. org. "Computers are part of our world," she said. "It's important for kids to understand how they work."

    Long, long ago there lived an old man. He had a very big orange tree in his garden. On the tree there were many fine{#blank#}1{#/blank#} .

    One day the old man found one of the oranges was bigger than the others. It was as big as a watermelon. So he took the biggest orange to the king. The king was very{#blank#}2{#/blank#} and gave the old man a lot of money for it.

Little George lived in a poor village. One summer afternoon, George's mother sent him to the field to pick up some dried wood for the fire.

When the sun was beginning to sink, George left for home. How 8 he felt that he had all his strawberries for his sick mother. 

He heard his mother's faint (虚弱的) voice calling him. "Is that you, George? I'm glad you've 9 . I'm thirsty, and am longing for some tea."

George ran to her and joyfully offered the strawberries. 

"And you saved them for your sick mother, didn't you?" she said, laying her hand 10 on his head, with tears in her eyes.

Su Shi，also known as Su Dongpo，was an outstanding Chinese poet（政治家），who lived during the Song Dynasty from 1037 to 1101.

Su Shi was born into a well﹣known family in Meishan，Sichuan province. His father and brother were both great poets. Su Shi showed great talent from a young age and was known for his skills in handwriting and painting. At the age of 20，Su Shi successfully passed the imperial（科举），Su held a number of different government positions across China. However，his different opinions often got him into trouble. Because of disagreements at court（流放）three times. In 1079，Su Shi was even sent to prison. Although he got out of prison at last，Su Shi's literary talent continued to shine，and he produced exile，"Red Cliff"，a great number of poetic works during his lifetime. In 1080，he found peace in nature and produced some of his best works. The famous poem， "Red Cliff"，as he was also a great prose writer. His article "On the Love of the Lotus"shows his love for the beauty of the flower. In addition，his collection of short stories，shows his humour and wisdom. 

It was not only in the literary field that Su Shi was highly praised. As an official，he won the love and support of the people. During his services，he did a lot for the people. In 1077，he protected the city from a terrible flood. The people in Xuzhou were thankful to him and gave him some food as presents. 

Although Su Shi's life was filled with both achievements and troubles，he is remembered as one of the greatest people in Chinese history，and his creative genius and strong spirit continue to influence and guide people around China. 

Peter was at his grandparents' house. He saw some coins in a bottle in the living room. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} On each coin, Peter saw dates, famous people's faces and values showing how much they are. Peter liked them so much. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}

It was quite a hobby, collecting coins. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} Even the smell of metal made him smile. He was really into coins! The good thing about it was that you could use it if you really wanted to, but they were fun to look at, as well.
