A little boy was playing in his sandbox on a Saturday morning．While he was building roads and houses in the soft sand, he discovered a large stone in the middle of the sandbox．

    The little boy pushed and pulled, but every time he thought he had made some progress, the stone tipped (倾斜) and then fell back into the sandbox．The little boy tried his best, but his only reward was to have the stone roll back．

    Finally the boy cried．All that time the boy's father watched him from his living room window．At the moment tears fell, his father came to the boy and the sandbox．Gently but surely he said, "Son, why didn't you use all the strength that you had?" The boy said sadly, "But I did, Daddy, I did! I used all the strength that I had! No, son," corrected the father．"You didn't ask me．"With that, the father reached down, picked up the stone and removed it from the sandbox．

    Do you have "stones" in your life that need to be removed? Are you discovering that you are too weak to lift them? There is ONE who is always ready to give us the strength we need．Isn't it funny how we try so hard to do things on our own?

    Last summer I spent some time off with my mother in Beidaihe. We stayed there from July 15th to August 5th. It is really a wonderful place. It is one of the most famous summer resorts（避暑胜地）in China. The buildings there are tidy, with some trees and flowers around therm. It is famous for its beaches, so lots of tourists from all over the world go there every year.

    There are many interesting places, such as the Olympic Park, the Geziwo Park and the Tiger Rock Park. In the Olympic Park. there are some athletes' statucs（运动员的雕像）and champions' fingerprints and footprints. Everything in the park is about Olympics. The Geziwo Park becomes famous because it is one of the best places to watch the sunset（落日）. Thousands of people go to watch the sunset every day. People can also see different kinds of birds.

    We enjoyed ourselves there. We are hoping for the next holiday.

    Once upon a time, a young man wanted to go to a village on business. Halfway there was a mountain. Before he left home, his family warned him to stay calm and climb onto trees if he was in face of beasts. In this way, the beasts couldn't do anything to him.

    The young man remembered these words and began his trip.

    He walked for a long time carefully and found that no beasts were out there. He thought his family's worries were superfluous. And he became relaxed as he walked. Just at that moment, he saw a fierce tiger running to him and he climbed onto a tree nearby at once.

    The tiger roared around the tree and even jumped to reach the man. The young man was too scared to hold the tree and fell right on the back of the tiger. Full of fear, he had to hold the tiger tightly. The tiger thought that must be a giant beast. So it was afraid and started running madly.

    People on the road didn't know what happened and said, "Look at the young man. He is riding a tiger!" "Cool!" "Superman!"

    Hearing these words, the young man was very angry. "Why can't they see I'm suffering a lot? Don't they understand I am in fear and almost scared to death? "he said to himself.

Lucy and I are know each other for a long time. Although we are not in the same class, she is my best friend. She is a(n) {#blank#}1{#/blank#} girl. She likes making friends and often helps others She is good at dancing. She has dance lessons {#blank#}2{#/blank#}a week.

Lucy is a good student. She always does well at school. She likes English best. Every morning, she reads English {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. She never gets {#blank#}4{#/blank#} with English. She also likes architecture(建筑). She likes tall {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. She hopes to build one by herself one day.

Anna Brown is a painter. She is kind. She is always ready to 1 others. Once, she found out that there were lots of children with illnesses in her town and their families were in need of money.
