Recently, I happened to hear a mother and daughter in their last moments together at the airport as the daughter prepared to leave.

They hugged and the mother said "I love you and I wish you enough."They kissed and the daughter left.

The mother walked over to the window where I sat. Standing there, I could see she was going to cry. I tried not to disturb her but she welcomed me by asking "Have you ever said goodbye to someone knowing it would be forever?"

"Yes," I replied. "But may I know why this is the final goodbye?"

"I am ill and she lives so far away. It's highly possible that the next trip back will be for my funeral(葬礼)"she said.

"When you were saying goodbye, I heard you say 'I wish you enough'. May I ask what that means?"

"That's a wish that has been handed down from past generations. My parents used to say it to everyone." She paused for amoment and looked up as if trying to remember it in detail and she smiled evenmore.

"When we say 'I wish you enough', we want the other person to have a life filled with just enough good things to bewith them". Then turning to me, she shared the following:

"I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright."

"I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more."

    I was shopping in the supermarket when I heard a young voice.“Mom，come here！There's this lady here my size！”The mother rushed to her son；then she turned to me to say sorry to me. I smiled and told her，“It's OK.”Then I talked to the boy，“Hi，I'm Dory Kramer. How are you？”He studied me from head to toe，and asked，“Are you a little mommy？”
“Yes，I have a son,” I answered.
“Why are you so little?”he asked.
“It's the way I was born,” I said.“Some people are little. Some are tall. I'm just not going to grow any bigger.”After I answered his other questions，I shook the boy's hand and left.
    My life as a little person is filled with stories like that. I enjoy talking to children and explaining why I look different from their parents.
It takes only one glance( 一瞥) to see I'm different. I stand three feet nine inches tall(="1.14" metres).I was born a dwarf ． In spite of this，I did all the things other kids did when I was growing up.
    I didn't realize how short I was until I started school. Some kids called me names (辱骂).Then I knew. I began to hate the first day of school each year.
    But I learned to smile and face the fact that I was going to be noticed my whole life. What I lacked in height ， I made up for in personality. When people are rude，I remind myself，“Look what else I have－a great family，nice friends.”

   Harry is eight years old. He goes to school near his home. He always goes there and comes home on foot. One day he came home from school late. His mother saw him and asked him, "Why were you late, Harry?"
   "My teacher was very angry and asked you to go to her office tomorrow."
   "To her office? Why?" his mother asked. "Because she asked a question in the class." said Harry. "Nobody could answer it, but I could. "

     One cold morning there was much snow in the streets. A car knocked the woman down and the policemen took her to the hospital. She didn't tell John that his father deserted(遗弃) her before he was born until she died. She left her son the name and address of his father.
John found his father, Mr. Brown, in another city. He was one of the richest shopkeepers and he had to receive his son. From then on the boy lived a rich life. He ate all kinds of delicious food and wore beautiful clothes. But he didn't go to school and could not read or write.
Once his father took him to a party. He saw a newspaper lying on the floor and picked it up while others were talking about a film. He had a look at it and found a car's wheels(轮子) were upward(向上).He called out,“ Oh, dear! An accident happened!”
    All the people were surprised and began to read the newspaper. But soon they all began to laugh. Do you know why?

      Mr. and Mrs. White had two sons and three daughters. One Sunday, Mrs. White said to her husband. The children don' t have any lessons today, and you're free too. There's a new funfair（游乐场） in the park. Let's all go there to play.
     Her husband said, "I want to finish some work today." "Oh, I forget it. Go there and make our children happy. That's the most important work." Mrs. White said.
     So Mr. and Mrs. White took their children to the funfair. Mr. White was forty-five years old but he enjoyed the funfair more than his children. He hurried from one thing to another, and ate lots of sweets. One of the children said to her mother, "Dad is just like a small child, isn't he, Mom?" Mrs. White didn't want to follow her husband around any more at that time and answered, "He is even worse than a small child, Mary, because he might spend（花费）more money than a small child."
