On April 2, we said goodbye to Tiangong I, China's first space lab. According to the China Manned Space Agency (中国载人航天), Tiangong I re-entered the Earth's atmosphere (大气层) and some of its debris (碎片) fell into the South Pacific Ocean.

There are many spacecraft (宇宙飞船) that are still in orbit

(轨道) above the Earth. After finishing their trips, they will all re-enter the Earth's atmosphere like Tiangong I.

There are two types of re-entries: controlled re-entry and uncontrolled re-entry.

Some satellites and manned spacecraft come back to the Earth in a controlled re-entry. Experts calculate (计算) the path of the falling spacecraft and its speed. Thy can guide the spacecraft to fall in a chosen area.

Some spacecraft may have problems while in space after a certain amount of time. These spacecraft come back in an uncontrolled re-entry. It is hard to tell when and where these spacecraft will fall until the last few hours. The US space station Skylab came back partially uncontrolled in 1979. Parts of the station fell in western Australia, but no one was hurt.

During re-entry, most of the spacecraft will burn up while passing through the Earth's atmosphere. Only a small amount of the debris will reach the ground. The debris typically ends up falling into the ocean, China Daily reported.

(1)、The debris from Tiangong I     .
A、fell into the South Pacific Ocean B、fell in western Australia C、fell in the central part of the US D、fell into the North Pacific Ocean
(2)、When the spacecraft finishes its trip, it will     .
A、burn up and disappear B、speed up and fly back to the Earth C、enter another orbit and stay in space D、re-enter the Earth's atmosphere
(3)、From the passage, we know there are     types of re-entries.
A、one B、two C、three D、four
(4)、Which of the following is TRUE about the US space station Skylab?
A、It came back in a controlled re-entry. B、Some people were hurt by its debris. C、Parts of it fell in western Australia. D、It was directed to fall into the ocean.
(5)、This story most probably comes from     .
A、a story book B、a movie review C、a science magazine D、a government report

Many of us don't pay much attention to the importance of eye care. It is said if you take care of your body, then you can surely be healthy. That is why our eyes should be given a lot of care. Natural eye care should be put in a number one place.
There are several causes leading to poor eyesight like not enough food, genes(基因)and aging(老化). Televisions, computers and reading are also the causes of having poor eyesight. If you happen to work in front of the computer, it is best to take a break every once in a while. Something dirty can cause redness and they will make you feel uncomfortable. It is bad for your eyes, too. If this happens, the best way is to clean your eyes by using cold water. You must also try your best to protect your eyes from harmful things. For example, sunglasses are not just for fashion but they can also serve as a great way to protect your eyesight from UV rays.
Eating healthy foods will do good to your eyesight. Remember that vitamins A, C and E are good for eyes. Try to eat food groups that have these vitamins. And you should do eye exercise protects your eyesight, too. If a person exercises regularly (定期的) and eats the right kind of food, his eyes will stay in good condition for a long time.
All above are natural ways of eye care that help us keep healthy eyes. Being happy all the time can be helpful to a person's eyesight, too. All in all, eye care is very important, no matter how old a person is.

We humans live in different parts of the world, but we have the same “mother”. She gives us everything we need in our daily life. She is our Mother Earth.
April 22 is Earth Day. The theme of this year is “Green Cities”.
A green city is a healthy and pleasant place for people to live, according to the United Nations.
A green city can get its energy from renewable (可再生的) sources like solar (太阳能的) and wind power. Also, it is connected by clean public transportation. Moreover, a green city is made up of facilities (设施) that can save energy and reduce waste.
Around the world, many cities and countries have done well to build themselves in a green way.
Chicago is well known for its green roof (屋顶) program. These roofs are covered with plants. The plants get a great amount of rainwater. Later, the water evaporates (蒸发) to help make the air cool and clean. So far, there are about 360 green roofs in Chicago, according to the US Environmental Protection Agency.
Curitiba, Brazil, has great transportation. It opened the world's first bus rapid transit (BRT) system in 1974. BRT runs on special lanes. This makes sure that buses are on time even in traffic jams. With the help of BRT, the city has the lowest level of air pollution in Brazil. Today, many other countries have copied BRT, including China and Mexico.
Singapore is home to the first zero-energy building in Southeast Asia. Zero energy means a building is able to create more energy than it uses. Zero-energy buildings work with solar panels (板) mainly on roofs. These panels can make electricity which powers the buildings. By 2030, Singapore plans to build 80 percent of its buildings like this.

Endangered dolphins are beautiful animals that needed to be saved. It may interest you to know there are about six different types of dolphins that are endangered. Many of them are river dolphins and they are very close to being lost forever if we do not take the time to care for them. The following is the reason why they are in danger.

{#blank#}1{#/blank#}Dolphins can often get stuck(卡) in these nets and they may die. Another problem is the fact that many people and different countries will hunt for dolphins as food.

{#blank#}2{#/blank#}When the oceans and rivers are polluted, it affects the very environment where these beautiful creatures are living. It may be important to also keep in mind that the dolphin is towards the top of the food chain.{#blank#}3{#/blank#} If these small animals are affected by the pollution as well, there really is no safe place for the dolphin to go.

{#blank#}4{#/blank#}You can also pay attention to the land around you. Do not litter and stop if you do. Spend time on the weekend cleaning up trash in your area and recycle what you can. You play a large role in this whether you believe it or not. So, find out what your role is related to endangered dolphins and work towards a positive change.

A. We, as humans, have to be doing something to protect them.

B. One problem that caused endangered dolphins is fishing nets.

C. Because of this, they axe going to cat small animal in water

We usually think that plants always stay quiet and never speak. Grass doesn't cry when you cut it; flowers don't shout when they're picked. But this view of the world couldn't be more wrong. Plants talk to each other all the time. Their language is one of chemicals.

Over the years, scientists have found that different types of plants, from trees to tomatoes, send compounds(复合物)into the air to help neighboring plants. But exactly how plants receive and act on many of these signals is still a mystery.

Scientists from Kyoto University in Japan looked at tomato plants that had been bitten by insects. To start out, they grew plants in two plastic bags connected by a tube(管子). One plant had been bitten by insects. The other was not bitten.

They found that when insects bite plant leaves, the plants don't sit quietly. They send a chemical called "hexvic" into the air. Humans can't notice it, but these chemicals carry a smell that neighboring plants can notice. This way, neighboring plants realize the danger and begin to give off more "hexvic" to protect themselves.

The same scientists continued their research by placing insects on the plants that had not been bitten. The plants were able to kill nearly 50 percent of the invaders, much more than their neighbor.

It was surprising that the plants that had not been bitten didn't send the chemical until the received a warning message from their infested(受侵的)neighbor, the scientists said. These findings could be used to help farmers with the control of the insects which do harm to their plants.

Many scientists believe our love of sugar may actually be an addiction (上瘾). When we eat or drink sugary foods, the sugar enters our blood and influences parts of our brain that make us feel good. Then the good feeling goes away, leaving us wanting more. All tasty foods do this, but sugar has a particularly strong effect. In this way, it is in fact addictive, and doctors suggest we all cut down on it.

"It seems like every time I study an illness, I find my way back to sugar," says scientist Richard Johnson. One-third of adults worldwide have high blood pressure (血压), and up to 347 million have diabetes (糖尿病). Why? "Sugar, we believe, is one of the reasons, if not the main reason," says Johnson.

Our bodies are designed to survive on very little sugar. Early humans often had very little food, so our bodies learned to keep sugar as fat. In this way, we had energy stored for when there was no food. But today, most people have more than enough. So the very thing that once saved us may now be killing us.

So what is the solution? It's obvious that we need to eat less sugar. The trouble is, in today's world, it's extremely difficult to avoid. From breakfast cereals to after-dinner desserts, our foods are increasingly filled with it. Some manufacturers (制造商) even use sugar to replace taste in foods that are advertised as low in fat. This may make the food appear as healthier, but large amounts of sugar are often added.

But there are those who are fighting back against sugar. Many schools are offering more fruit instead of deserts. Other schools are building facilities for students to do exercise. The battle has not yet been lost.
