The day that I met my best friend for the first time, I was full of {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(anxious). I was trying to do some revision for an important oral exam in the local library and people {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(keep)disturbing me. I was getting more and more annoyed and of course, the more upset I got, the less I was able to concentrate. The last straw was when I heard someone {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(sing) behind me.  The singing was so loud that I could even recognise the song! I turned around and glared at the person {#blank#}4{#/blank#} was singing. It was a tall girl about the same age as me and she had a big smile {#blank#}5{#/blank#} her face. She was standing with a book in her hands near the “English Literature” section. She looked like a literary type and seemed very interested in {#blank#}6{#/blank#} she was reading. I glanced at {#blank#}7{#/blank#} book's cover. It was a book of Tennyson's {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(poem).

    The fact that she looked like a sensitive, friendly girl didn't matter. If anything, it made me even angrier. “How could she be so selfish?” I thought {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(angry). In fact, I was surprised there wasn't steam {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(come) out of my ears!

    Beijing was once a city of bikes, the capital of a country {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (know) as the Bicycle Kingdom, where cars were reserved for official and political business. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}, decades of remarkable economic growth led to a huge flowing of cars in the city. Owning one became not just a marker of reaching the middle class but also a {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (require) for marriage.     Fortunately, now Beijing may be returning to its roots with a modem twist. Many local residents welcome the shared bikes{#blank#}6{#/blank#} the flexibility and freedom they offer. They pick up the bikes and then ride and drop{#blank#}7{#/blank#} off anywhere they like, locking the back wheel, with no need to find a fixed place.

    Analysis in China say there are three factors{#blank#}8{#/blank#} contribute to the sudden increase of bikes: a lot of cash looking for a home, a good idea and government support. “As the city's population grew, traffic jams got{#blank#}9{#/blank#} (bad).” Cai, the Ofo spokeswoman, said, “Shared bikes could solve the 'last mile' problem in{#blank#}10{#/blank#} environmentally friendly way.”
