Last week, 169 students at No.35 Middle School of Shenyang took their first no-teacher exam. After the teacher handed out the exam paper, he left the room and never came back. A student collected in the papers when the exam ended.
“That test was not only a test of knowledge, but also a test of moral (道德). We wanted to show students how important honesty is, ” said Mr. Cai, the school's headmaster. The school says no cheating happened in the test. Next year, it wants 80% of its exams to be without teachers. But students have different ideas.
“I was happy and excited during the exam because my teachers trusted me,"said Lang Yudan, a 13-year-old girl in Class 11.
“Schools must trust students a lot not to use invigilators(监考人). But I think it is too early. Some students will cheat if there are no invigilators. And the students will not be able to ask for help when needed,” said Hua Sha.
“I don't like having invigilators in exams. When they walk around the classroom, they make me nervous. I would get higher marks without them in the room because I would feel more relaxed," Liu Qingxi said.
“I think it's very important to have invigilators in exams. Many students want to check their answers with each other after they have finished papers. And they can also keep the classroom in order when something unusual happens. They may make me nervous, but I still think we need them," Shangguan Yan said.
Not using invigilators may be a good idea. But before using it, schools must tell students the importance of honesty and try to find ways to solve something unusual in exams.

Jessie felt her life so boring one summer day. She was so tired of watching TV, she read all her books, and her friends were on vacation. She wanted something different to do. Suddenly, she saw the lawn mower(割草机) sitting in the yard.
“ Mom,” she shouted, “ I think I will mow the lawn.” Her mom ran into the yard and said, “ Oh no, you don't. You're too young to mow the lawn.”
I'm fourteen years old and know how to do it,” Jessie said, “ Besides, it would help Dad out, and he won't have to worry about it over the weekend.”
Mom thought for a while and then decided to let Jessie give it a try. After all, she was home and would keep an eye on her. Jessie already knew how to start the lawn mower from watching her dad. Jessie checked the gas(汽油) to make sure it was full, and put on her gardening gloves to protect her hands. Mom watched from the kitchen window. Jessie really does know how to mow the lawn. She was very careful around the flowers and trees. When she finished, she felt so good, but she was so hot. Mom brought her some ice tea and said, “You sure did a great job. Dad will be very surprised.”
Later that day, Dad came home and said to Jessie's mom, “You didn't have to mow the lawn. I was going to do it on Saturday. It looks great. Thanks.”
I didn't mow it. Jessie did.”
“Wow,our little girl is growing up!” Dad told Jessie what a great job she had done.
“It was fun, and I will do it again next week,” said Jessie.
The neighbor next door came by and asked Jessie if she wanted to mow his lawn and make some money. “Sure!” said Jessie. Jessie began mowing his lawn. Two other neighbors asked so, then another three. Jessie was now mowing lawns for them all and making some money. She was no longer bored! “I won't have time to spend my money,” she laughed to herself.

 D. Answer the questions (根据短文内容回答问题)

Eric was standing in front of a large grey house in the countryside. He had just been dropped off by his mum, who left after telling him that he was going to spend the next twelve days there with no TV, no mobile phone and — worse of all — no computer.

Suddenly, a man appeared at the entrance of the house. When he saw Eric, he went up to him immediately. 'You must be Eric. Welcome to the camp,' said the man confidently. 'I'm Tony, the camp leader, but you will call me "Sir". Now tell me why you're here.'

Eric quickly replied, 'My mum made me come!' When Tony looked at him angrily and did not say anything, Eric realized his mistake and added, 'Sir!'

'And do you know why your mother sent you here?' asked Tony.

'She thinks I spend too much time online. Sir,' answered Eric. 'It's not just her opinion — it's the truth! Look at you — pale, unfit, and definitely not getting enough sleep. You're here because you think the virtual world is much better than the real world. But you're wrong! The real world has much more to offer. At the camp, you're going to go hiking, rowing, rock-climbing and stay outdoors most of the time,' promised Tony.

Eric'heart sank.

'But it's not going to be all fun and games,' Tony continued. 'We have rules here. If you break them, you'll get punished. But you won't simply get detention (课后留校), and you can forget about suspension (停学) — you'll never be sent home early! Instead, you'll clean the toilets, wash the dishes or do an extra hour of exercise!'

'Oh Mum,' sighed Eric. 'What have you got me into?'
