You may not know a lot of people when you start high school. This really makes you feel {#blank#}1{#/blank#} because you don't know who to talk to when you have problems.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} you know some freshmen(新生), you still feel worried that you don't know any elder students and teachers. How are you going to make friends with these unknown people? 

    {#blank#}3{#/blank#} most high schools hold a freshman training before school actually starts. These are helpful because you learn your way around the buildings. You also get to meet some of your teachers and other freshmen. That way, you may already recognize a few{#blank#}4{#/blank#} faces when you go to school on your first day.

    Last night, when I was driving back home, I noticed a hitchhiker (搭便车的人) who was having no luck getting a ride. I rolled down my window and signed to the man to my car. I asked him where he was heading and he told me he needed a ride to his doctor's office which would close in 15 minutes. I told him to {#blank#}1{#/blank#} and he gratefully did so.

    As soon as he got in, he told me that he was a {#blank#}2{#/blank#} and went out to set for weeks at a time. He took medicine for his nerves and needed to get another prescription (处方) before he left on the boat. He said that he had prayed (祈祷) {#blank#}3{#/blank#} would stop for him so he could be there before the {#blank#}4{#/blank#} office closed. With some fast diving we managed to make it there in about 10 {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. I then asked him how he planned on getting back home and he said he could walk. "I'll patiently wait for you and bring you back," I told him. He {#blank#}6{#/blank#} me and said he should only be about 15 minutes.

    Afterwards he got back in my car and tried his hardest to pay me back: offering me dinner, gas money, even offering to ship me 40 lbs of scalps (海扇贝)! I {#blank#}7{#/blank#} refused, gave him a smile card and asked him to help someone else the nest time he had a {#blank#}8{#/blank#}. I drove him {#blank#}9{#/blank#} to where I had picked him up and after one more "thank you", he was on his way.

    I fell that the world always offers us {#blank#}10{#/blank#} we need. In the man's case it was ride, in mine the chance to help someone else.

    It's different between western countries and eastern countries about how to keep healthy. Traditional Chinese doctors believe we need a{#blank#}1{#/blank#}of cool yin and hot yang to be healthy. In China, herbs(草药) are the main medicine but in western countries they use pills.

    In China, {#blank#}2{#/blank#}you are quiet and always tired, Chinese doctors might think you have too much yin. You should eat more hot yang food. It can give you some{#blank#}3{#/blank#}.But in western countries, doctors will check your body. They might give you some  pills to cure(治愈) your disease. People who are easily nervous and{#blank#}4{#/blank#}might have too much yang in their bodies. Chinese doctors believe they should eat more yin food.

    Several years ago a heavy rain hit a town and made the river go up. When the rain stopped, people found that a dog swam to an island in the river twice a day for two weeks. Why did she do so? Her four children were there. The mother swam there every day to{#blank#}2{#/blank#}her babies. This true story moved many people.

Another story is about chimpanzees（猩猩）. A scientist named Jane Goodall spent four years {#blank#}3{#/blank#}chimpanzees in Africa. She found that chimpanzees also{#blank#}4{#/blank#}those that were hurt or got lost. "It is not only humans who have duties, animals also do." she said.

    Two birds in Chengdu also showed their parental（父母的）love. Their baby was hurt and fell on the street in the center of the city. Cars were driving past but the brave parents rushed down to the road and took the little bird away with their claws（爪子）.
