A priest (神父) lived with his small white cat. One day, the cat climbed up a tree and was afraid to come down. The priest called its name and gave it its favourite drink, warm milk, but the cat still didn't come down. So the priest decided to tie rope (栓一根绳子) between his car and the tree. He thought as he drove, the tree would bend down (弯曲) and he could get the cat. He did so. But he drove too far, and the rope broke (断).

    The tree went "boing!" and the cat went through the air. The priest couldn't see it. He felt terrible. He walked around and asked people if they'd seen his cat. But nobody had seen it. At last, he said, "God (上帝), I just give this cat to your keeping."

    A few days later, he met one of his friends in a shop. He saw cat food in her shopping bag. This woman didn't like cats and everyone knew it, so he asked her in surprise, "Why are you buying cat food?"

    She answered, "My little girl always wanted a cat, but I didn't agree. Then a few days ago, she asked again. I told her if God gave her a cat, she could keep it. She went out of the house and said something to the sky. Then suddenly a cat flew out of the blue sky and landed in front of her. "

    The priest smiled and said, "How lucky your little girl is!" Then he went on shopping.

    When I was a little child, my mom sometimes liked to make breakfast food for dinner. And I remember one night she made breakfast after a long, hard day at work.

    That evening, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and burned cookies in front of my dad. I remembered waiting to see if anyone would say anything. Yet all my dad did was to reach for his cookie, smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him eat every bite of that cookie!

    When I got up from the table that evening, I remembered hearing my mom say sorry to my dad for burning the cookies. And I'll never forget what he said, "Dear, I love burned cookies."

    Later that night, I went to kiss Dad goodnight, and I asked him if he did really like his burned cookies. He kissed me and said, "Your mom had a hard day at work today, and she's very tired.  Besides, a little burned cookie never hurt anyone!"

    Life is full of imperfect(完美)things and imperfect people. We need to learn to accept each other's faults and differences.

Harry is a student. Harry's mother 1 a new sport hat for him. It's brown— Harry's favorite color. His shoes, ruler and eraser are 2 , too. After school, Harry goes back home.

" Where is your new 3 ?" asks Mom.

" Oh! My hat!" says Harry."4 in the classroom. I must go there!"

 Then Harry goes to the 5 and look for(寻找) the hat. 6 he can't find it." Oh,I 7 my new hat," says Harry. And he goes back home.

 At home, Harry's mother says," Do you want to call your teacher 8 help?"

 And then Harry opens(打开) his schoolbag to get(拿) his 9 . He finds his new hat!

" Look, Mom!" says Harry." My hat is in the schoolbag! It's not lost."

" Great!" says Mom." But you must be careful(小心的)!"

" You' re 10 , Mom." says Harry.

B: Three times. Every time I read it, I can always learn something new. 

T: Really? Who is your favorite writer?

T: Me, too. He is also my favorite foreign writer. Please let me have a look at it.

T: It is wonderful. I haven't read such a nice novel for long. Where did you buy it?

T: I don't know where it is. Is it far from here?

T: Oh, I see. I'm going there to get one, too. Thank you!

B: You're welcome. 

Like most parents, mine spent much time advising me to take part in activities outside school. However, they never forced me, and I never found anything I was interested in. Then one day a friend at school told me about a local dance group and asked if I wanted to go with her. So, after school we went to talk to the dance teacher. She explained everything to us and we both decided to join.

My parents were really pleased to hear I'd finally chosen dancing. They think if you develop an interest in doing something yourself, it will be easier to succeed.

I' ve now been attending the dancing classes for 3 years and I really enjoy it. We are organized into age groups, and at 16 I'm now in the oldest class. There are classes of swing dance, ballet(芭蕾舞), street dance and folk dance. I practice street dance and I'm quite good at it. I also help out leading some of the younger children.

We also take part in events like local and even national dance shows, and relatives turn up to see their children perform. My parents are proud of me as they tell me all the time.

Now I' ll be too old to continue dancing with the group. However, I have already made plans to continue with them. The dance school has become very successful and is opening new classes. The director has asked if I'd like to be one of the group leaders and of course I said" yes"!
