My grandmother is a fifty-three-year-old woman. She loves gardening and plants a lot of flowers.She likes animals because she thinks they are cute. And she really enjoys cooking but the dishes don't taste good. She doesn't like sports at all.

      My grandmother has two pretty big eyes and long brown hair. She really looks beautiful. She always has a bright smile on her face. We all think she's also very generous and likes to help others.

      My grandmother is very popular with her friends and her grandchildren. She often tells stories to us. She gives us a lot of happy time. But sometimes she is strict with me. She said she couldn't go to school when she was young. So she hopes that I can get into a better university. I love my grandmother and hope she will be healthy and happy forever.

    Jim goes to Tokyo. He wants to see his aunt. But when he walks out of the station, he can't find his way. The city is now quite different. He sees a man outside a police station, so he goes up to ask him for help. The man looks at him for a long time, then says, “I'm sorry, sir. I'm from another city. I'm standing here and want to find a policeman. He may tell you the way.”

 Hi there! This is Cangshan and Erhai National Nature Reserve (苍山洱海国家自然保护区). Flowers and trees look great. My name's Li Peipei and I work with birds.

 In the afternoon, I get up at about 4:00, and then at 4:20p. m. I have breakfast. At  5:30p. m. I go into the forest(森林) and look for(寻找) birds. I write their names in my notebook. At 9:30 in the evening I have lunch. I often have hamburgers and bread. Some birds like my bread, too.

 At three o' clock in the morning I say goodbye to birds. From 3:20 a. m. to 5:00 a. m.,I write all the names on the computer. I have dinner at 5:15 a. m. At 5:45 a. m.,I go to bed and sleep.

I sleep in the day and I almost can't see the sun. But working with birds is great fun. Come to our national nature reserve and let's enjoy nature!

Kids' birthday parties are more fun than adults (成人的) parties. And there are four things for parents to remember when they want to have a birthday party for their kids.

Make a list(列清单). Each kid wants different kinds of parties. Write down all your child's ideas on a piece of paper and then get things ready according to the list.

Make invitations. Make sure you write down the name of each guest (客人), so you will know the number of the things you have to prepare, such as chairs and plates.

Buy something to eat. You need to decide whether to buy a cake or make one. Decide what kind of food to have. Make sure to get the food ready on time. If you go to a party store, there will be everything you need and you won't have to go to different stores to get everything ready.

Prepare some drink. You should buy some drinks, such as Coke and juice. I think the best drink is a small bottle of cold water if it is hot in summer.

 One day, my science teacher, Mr Pearson asked me to have a"quick talk" after class. Although I had always done quite well in science and maths, I had 1 a bit with schoolwork by Grade 8. I didn' t really find the 2 in trying. I just thought I'd leave school as soon as I could.

 So that afternoon, when all the rest of the class had 3 , Mr Pearson sat down next to me. He asked me what I wanted to do in the future. I could answer that question 4 , because I'd been thinking about it — I wanted to work in a garage(汽车修理厂).

"So you'd like to fix cars?" he said. "Why not 5 them?" I said"Making them?" Mr Pearson said. "Being a(n) 6 designs the best cars in the world possibly". It was something I'd never thought. Mr Pearson said, "You are good enough at science and maths to do that, I know. But you don't really 7 ." I said shyly, "In Grade 8,I just... find everything a bit boring". Mr Pearson continued, "It's sometimes boring, but it's like 8 a mountain. You can't enjoy the exciting point 9 you work up from the bottom. The way is steep(陡峭的), and there's no 10 on the way."

 Mr Pearson was there for me after that, to explain things that I couldn't understand, or to help me with 11 in my life. And every month or two, he asked me, "How are things on that mountain?" I always said, "No view but I'm still going 12 ."

 Mr Pearson was right. At the end of Grade 8,I really started to 13 science and maths. He wasn't right about me becoming an engineer though. I got a bit 14 of cars as I got older, and decided that I wanted to study medicine when I left school. I now work in medical research, and I really feel like I'm on top of that15 at last!

Children need time to get bored. It's helpful in making them creative.

Most parents want their children to spend more time on their studies. However, a study shows that it may hamper(束缚) the growing of their imagination(想象力) , but being bored can make their creativity better. It's interesting, right?

A writer named Meera Syal said being bored was good for her mind. When she was young, she had few things to do and she often talked with people living next to her. She also tried to do things like learning to make cakes. "I thought and wrote a lot, because I was bored," Syal said. She also kept a diary and made up many short stories.

Grayson Perry, an artist, grew up in a poor family. He enjoyed himself by making up stories, drawing pictures for his stories and reading books. He spent his free time on things he liked to do. He became creative, because he could think freely.

Usually, when children have nothing to do, they watch TV or play with their smartphones. But they need time to think about their activities through playing. This kind of thinking is good for their imagination. Dr. Belton said, "Maybe we need to stay free from time to time."
