Hello, I am Jenny. I'm 13 years old. I live with my parents in a big city. I always study hard on weekdays. My grandparents live on a farm and I often visit them on weekends. On the farm are many kinds of animals, such as cows, sheep, pigs, dogs and chickens. I like to play with them because it can make me relaxed.

One day, I find a little duck on the farm. He has no family or friends, and he often walks alone. He is cute and I call him Tom. I decide to take care of him. After that, I often bring him some fresh fish and play with him. Little by little, the duck becomes friendly to me. Then, on Saturday mornings, when Tom sees me on the farm, he always runs up to me like a little dog. Sometimes he follows(跟着) me into the forest. We sit together and read books. We both feel relaxed. One Saturday evening, my grandfather asks me," Why does the little duck like you so much?"" Oh, because he can feel my love, grandpa."I answer happily.

27- year- old Pei Haozheng is skilled in creating artworks by using paper. In his eyes, a single piece of paper can make a big difference. He can fold it into anything, from daily objects to ancient people. 

Born in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, Pei started folding paper when he was a little kid, because paper was cheap and easy to get. At first, he learned folding from his friends and parents, and later he copied the style from books. From cranes to planes, he was fascinated by（着迷于） the magic world made by paper. Every day, he spent hours folding paper. 

In order to improve his folding skills, Pei taught himself through origami（折纸工艺） books. As the number of his works grew, so did the quality. His hard work paid off（得到回报） and then Pei began to create more complex（复杂的） designs. 

Pei won the International Origami Internet Olympiad in 2017, combining the art with Chinese cultural ideas. For the event's final task, he folded an ancient Chinese woman holding a mirror from a piece of hand made xuanzhi, a kind of rice paper. The artwork caught the judges'（裁判的） eye with its special shape and Eastern style. In September2022, Pei even set the Guinness World Record for most origami flowers made from a single piece of paper. 

Although people might be amazed at the complexity of the designs and skills needed to produce the artworks, Pei is always willing to keep trying new artworks. He said, "I get inspiration from Chinese culture and of course, I want to help Chinese culture go global（走向世界）. "

①Foreigners like growing flowers in the garden and enjoy the nice smell in spring. However, Chinese people prefer growing vegetables and get a harvest in autumn. For Chinese, bottles, even plastic bags are perfect for growing vegetables. 

②It's said that there is a"vegetable gene (基因)" in every Chinese people. After all, they have farmed for thousands of years and gained rich experience in growing vegetables. 

③A group of parents of Chinese students once grew vegetables at Yale University in the  USA. This area used to be covered with weeds (杂草). To help change the situation, these Chinese parents worked together and finally turned weeds into vegetables. 

④Africa is such a poor place. Many hard-working and kind-hearted Chinese workers went there to help. They helped build roads as well as taught Africans how to farm. All kinds of fruits and vegetables have been grown in Africa. 

⑤The soldiers (士兵) on the islands of the South China Sea also created a vegetable garden through their own efforts. It used to be difficult for the soldiers to eat fresh vegetables on the islands. But recently, they harvested 750kg of vegetables on sandy beaches. Everyone was excited. 

⑥With the development of the science and technology in China, Chinese people have grown vegetables all over the world, from Europe to Africa, the days of planting potatoes on Mars(火星) will not be far away.
